    Rest week post cycle?

My current routine calls for a rest week after 12 weeks. I'm starting a 12 week cycle soon and wondering your guys thoughts on when and if to take a week off?

You could take a wk off if you want or you could just cut back for a wk or 2 ligher weight shorter time in the gym just not full bore or just add a 1or 2 more rest days in to your wk.

When you finish your 12 cycle at the end i would not take a wk off.

Thanks for the reply, rest weeks in general have been a struggle for me. Heck rest days kill me! Saddened to learn you still need them while on cycle.

The routine I'm on (for 5 years now) is all about switching up weight, tempo and sets, the first 4 weeks is hypertrophy. Slow tempo, 8-12 reps. While on cycle would skipping this stage be advised? I hear a lot of talk about low reps and heavy weight is why I ask. The last stage is exactly that.

Nothing wrong with a week off. You can't pound hard year round and grow.....you need some down time.

Seems like being on cycle would be a perfect time to take off for a little bit at least. Gear facilitates recovery so recover haha.
