unless you are ordering huge amounts domestic is the safest way to go.

As DJ said unless you are ordering a ton all of the time then you are pretty safe. Shipping companies are more interested in making money and not looking for problems.
Domestic is faster and safer. Asking if it's risky is not how I would put it ;) of course it's risky.
