so... i'm on trt (with an occasional blast... shhhh, it's a secret), and i recently switched docs. as a result i get trt covered by insurance, and get the rx's filled at the local pharmacy. i pick up my syringes and needles load up my first pin for my usual IM shoulder shot and inject all per usual protocol.
near the end of the squeeze, i sense a bit of back pressure in the syringe. i push through it and feel a quick snap in the syringe. strange, i think, and pull back the syringe and the needle is ****ing gone! oh shit, it broke off in my shoulder. i rub around the injection site and can't feel a thing. strange... then i read the side of the syringe... "BD retractable needle"
i couldn't help but laugh - that was a surprise.
