Good testosterone levels but ectomorph: explanations?
I recently had done bloods done for TSH T4 and testosterone . It's the fourth set I've had done in the last few months and the testosterone reading came back at 710 ng/dl, which is pretty good. As a natural ectomorph, it got me thinking about all my years of training and how muscle growth is typically slow. You could have a natural mesomorph with lower figures who gains just from looking at a dumbbell, whereas an ecto with higher test struggles. I know there are various reasons for this, but l thought I'd throw it out there for discussion.
Anyone else had the same experience?

Total test is hardly the only thing that determines muscle growth, retention, etc.

There are many genetic markers that determine muscle growth. Among the anabolic hormones involved in protein synthesis, testosterone is only part of the equation. Estrogen, IGF-1 and Growth hormone are key players as well. Then we all have limiting genetic regulators like myostatin to varying degrees.
If only they had something that could eliminate all these genetic factors and allow us to build muscle at a rate superior to what our genes would normally allow....Hmmmm...
