Lightbulb First cycle - considering a short one

    Hi all
I am considering a first cycle, but after months of research, I'm still pretty confused about cycling. Please be patient and help me with my questions.

I have been training hard for four years, the first two of which was with a PT/bodybuilder who had used juice in the past - but was pretty cagey about it and rarely discussed it with me (I think he got in some strife on a long cycle).

I am thinking about doing a short cycle - maybe 2 weeks, to test the waters. Apart from testing the waters, long cycles and mass gains are not an option, I'd lose my job if it was suspected I was using steroids. What might be a good stack, and dosage? Also, if you suggest a stack, could you advise me on pct? And any other useful advice? What sides can I expect?

My goal is to gain a little more - but not huge amounts - I train hard, eat and sleep well, and have done for years - I can't seem to pack on much more muscle so I'm looking to supplement. I'd also like to work towards a more chisselled shape, less BF%, and more powerful muscles.

About me... I'm 6'1, 91 kg, approx 15% bf, naturally powerful lower body (ex sprinter, big legs) and had very weak upper body until I started training.

Thanks in advance to anyone who has some advice

PS I found out about short cycles from an article on this site - I can't post the link but it's easy to find the thread - it's about the benefits of short cycles written by a European trainer from a while back (don't worry I'm not going to get stuck into the tren at this stage lol, its mentioned in the article).

Dont do it or do at least a 6 werk cycle , of something like test prop, first cycles are usualy test E , but test E takes about 3-4 weeks just to kick in. So 2 week cycle is samething as no cycle.

Thanks for the reply. I should have mentioned, I was interested in short cycles over long periods. Ie, maybe 2 weeks on and 4-6 weeks off. I get that the results would be limited, but surely the results would be greater than no steroids at all...

Also, are there alternatives to test for first cycles? Why is it so commonly used for first timers?

    Thanks again

why are you interested in short cycles over longer cycles, im curious?

Because I work at a high school - if I packed on serious mass in a short time, I fear I'd raise suspician. I love training but absolutely can't afford to risk my job - so I thought short cycles with 'cooling off' periods might be a good idea - I could still gain and cut but at a steady rate. Do you see where I'm coming from?
    Also, I'm concerned about sides.
I'm by no means new to lifting, but even after training solidly for a few years I know little about the world of steroids.

If you want slow results then Your desired results can be achieved through diet and training. Shutting yourself down (or at least suppressing your test) and then expecting to naturally recover within 4-6 weeks and still get results is unlikely. You are far more likely to seriously damage your natural test levels over a period of time with that type of 'cycling'.

    Ok lets see...

You dont want to gain lot of muscle quickly... but you want to do a 2 weeks cycle.

If you do appropriate compound to gain mass during that 2 weeks. And if you manage to not lose everything during your 6 weeks off heres what gonna happen.

In 2 weeks you blow up.of 5 pounds, you lose 4 pounds of water/muscle during the 6 weeks off. Another +5 another -4 another +5 another -4... see the pattern?

So you get little bit bigger fast and shrink as fast. So you get big you get small you get big you get small... see the pattern?

Steroids are hormones and when you takes hormones you stop producting yours and in 6 weeks even with appropriate PCT you cant recover fully and still risk permanant damage...

So your mood/libido/motivation/boner go up and go down, go up and go down, go up and go down... see the pattern?

    More side effects...

Now if you do a low dose normal lenght cycle.

    12 weeks test E

Youll gain 3-4pounds during the first few weeks(mostly water), and youll gain .5-1 pounds a week steadily during the whole cycle. You stop and you lose back some water. Take proper pct and proper time off.
You can keep most of your gain.
And you are likely to be fine.

    How to explain it.

You upped your carbs so you gained water retention from them.
And you increased your calories so you gained muscle and you increased your training volume.

Explained how you gain 10 pounds in 3 months is fairly easy. Even 20 to some extent.

safer more efficient and easy to hide.

    Do as you wish.

I had to shut down my last cycle due to high BP after 2 weeks. 150mg prop EOD.

You will gain next to nothing on a 2 week cycle. I know I didn't. I also followed it with 4 week PCT, and I'm no fan of clomid AT ALL. Essentially I shut myself down for no gains, and 4 weeks of watching Friends reruns. There are guys who run 2 weekers that I found on the net that were 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off, 2 weeks on etc, but based on what I found on this site, you can't do it safely. Time on+PCT=time off, so you are on 2 weeks, PCT 4 weeks, 6 weeks off. What's the point of that?

I know that once I get my BP issue sorted and my blood work G2G I'm running AT LEAST 8 weeks of prop, or 12 weeks of Enth. Anything less just is not worth it. A strict diet and hard training will produce better (and safer) results in 2 weeks than gear would IMO. Vets here can chime in if I'm wrong, but it doesn't seem worth it in my (limited) experience.

Id suggest doing a low dose test cycle for a normal length. You can go as short as 8 weeks and run the test at say 400mgs. Id do that before Id do what you posted.

Op please do some more research before cycling. Your on the right track by asking questions and trying to learn. But there's a lot more to learn. 2 week cycles just won't work, as you research more you will find this out. Also trust me if you gain 10lbs no one will even notice. 10lbs is less then a 5% increase in your total body weight.
