Noobie here. I have a couple questions.

    Greetings.

So, I have tried to follow along with the posts and all I have done is confuse myself more. I've never taken steroids nor do I know anyone who has. I currently weigh 228 with about 24-25% BF. I believe that is something like 58 pounds of fat. The issue is I work at a job that is driving and sitting, so I've run into this wall. I eat generally healthy, but only go to the gym 2 times a week at the moment because of school. I've had a trainer since February and have dropped about 15 pounds of fat. I do know I am gaining, but its so slow. I feel discouraged because I put so much effort into the days I can workout, but the effects I don't notice personally.

That is just a little about me. I don't want to be huge or look like Mr. Universe or something, but I would like definition and to get rid of my gut. Once I get rid of it, I can maintain what I have. And if I have more muscle, I can burn off the fat faster. I feel so beside myself with all the information and have no person I can turn to for help. All the people I know or have interacted with are no where close to being healthy or have even considered going to the gym. Health has always been something I've been interested in, but with getting myself fit, I feel almost in shock and feel like I have no idea where to even begin. Hence why I decided to just post.

I'm 28, male, and weigh 228 with 24-25% BF. What would you suggest doing or using?

I personally hate to run, but whenever I wanted to drop some weight I like to get up early and simply walk on a treadmill for an hour. It sounds like a long time, but once you start to see the pounds start to shed away, you will get into it even more. You really do not have to run, you can simply walk and this alone can start to shed fat. Of course combining this with some dietary changes can do wonders.
Of course working out is needed to gain muscle, but a lot of big guys who have been carrying around a lot of extra weight (fat) actually have a lot of muscle underneath and losing fat alone can make you look pretty damn good. Good luck and welcome to the site. There are a lot of people on here who will offer advice and encouragement to get you where you want to be.

    Welcome

    Nice honest post there

Healthy diet, time and hardwork is the only solution for now im afraid, you dont sound disciplined enough of have done enough natural training to consider steroid use at the moment.

First i would stick to a proper diet and training regime and see how you get on (try and be open minded and determined)

If it was me and if your at the point your desperate for a boost to keep your chin up and see results quicker is possibly looking into ephedrine.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ephedrine

    Ephedrine - Steroid .com

Like any drug or substance make sure you do your research and make sure you treat it with respect, possibly even consult your doctor (check blood pressure etc)

    Good luck

The first thing that I would do is realize and accept that it's going to be long haul. At 228, I would set a goal for 200 and reassess from that point. I've dropped about 60 lbs since 2009 just by making lifestyle changes; I'm currently on an intentional, calorie restricted diet with a goal weight of 188. Losing a pound of BF per week is a reasonable goal with minimal discomfort.

If you haven't already, check these out:

From 228 to 200 is 28 lbs, 28 weeks. Walking is an easy way to burn some calories if you hate running (I HATE running. If a bear was chasing me and I had to run to safety, I'd just turn around and fight that sumbitch. If Scarlett Johansson was in panties and a tshirt and said to me "If you catch me, you can have me, heehee" and started running, I'd just go "Well, I guess I'll never know how that was.."). Even if you don't have an hour to walk, maybe you have 15-20 minutes at four different times throughout the day?

Results come slow but it's totally do-able. Tough out the first couple of weeks and it gets much easier. There are many different calorie-counting apps that make it easier than ever. Plan your food and keep it with you. When I'm hungry and unprepared, I make terrible food choices, either in quality or quantity (usually both).

Also, a lot of people use the "learn to listen to your body; it will tell you what you need." That doesn't work for me. My body's an asshole. When I listen to my body, I eat corn dogs and M&Ms, just want to get high and f***, and don't get much sleep. So, I'm learning to listen to people who have bodies, or at least body qualities, that I want. Exercise is always important, but this here is all diet. Thanks for your honesty and good luck.

I agree with everyone's points here. I would start by locking your diet down. Definitely try to hit the gym more, or at least the days you cannot make it, there are many at home work-outs you can do. You may not notice a change just yet, because you see yourself everyday. Push yourself a little harder. The day is not far from when you look in the mirror and say, D**N! Good luck and keep me posted!
