Anavar & the coil (mirena contraception)

    Hi

I'm wondering if anavar affects the use of the contraceptive coil? Will it stop it from working?

I've posted in the female section but wanted a broader response

    Thanks

It *shouldn't* be affected. The mirena exerts its effects by both just being present as a foreign object in the uterus and by releasing a tiny amount of progestin locally, directly to the tissues that need it. The progestin doesn't have to pass into circulation or be metabolized by the liver to do its job. Even if ingesting substances that could interfere with hormone metabolism, the uterine lining still gets exposed to the progestin that is released.
