How to get a blood test

Hey guys, I haven't been to a doctor in years. How do I manage to get a blood test? Pick up the phone book, call a random doctors' office and say "hey, I want a blood test that includes total test, lh, and fsh!" Is that about how it works?

There are open labs u can go to. Just do a Google search for your area and walk in blood tests.

It's what I did at least

Google private md labs .com(one word) use the'hormone panel for women' (as it'll give you your real TT numbers not cut off at 1500ng/dl) but you'll need to add in E2 sensitive essay(not standard estradiol - which comes with), prolactin, LH, FSH... I'd also add in a PSA test and anything that's missing from the 'hormone panel for males' you can look and see - I wouldn't get IGF-1 unless your running a ghrp/ghrh or GH lol

    Hope that helps!!

Isn't there a way to do this with a doctor so I don't need to pay $150+?

Ummm, that might make the doctor ask questions.

If not currently on cycle just ask for a physical to include full blood work. Take a look at the first list in the Finding A Doc sticky in the HRT Forum and get that if possible. If you are "on" then do it yourself via a private lab and minimize what you request to save money.

Does anyone know how to approach this situation in Canada?

Our healthcare covers this, so doctors may say no to so many bloodtests without any real problem.

I don't have a family doctor so should I just go to a walk in clinic and tell the doctor what I am doing?

Kelkel kinda answered it. If your off cycle u should be able to play it off, but not on cycle or even 3 tests so close in time

Unfortunately here in Canada they won't do blood tests without a script from a doctor. (Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and BC)

I'm off, but I really don't care if I tell my doctor that i've used before. I think it would be helpful for him.
