So you had blood work, what was the hematocrit?

HCT is the hematocrit and is at 43%, so pretty low.
It is true that B12 is required to the erythrocyte (RBC) formation, iron also enters this equation, and steroids will elevate erythropoiesis (sorry for the spelling, I think lol), but yours is still quite normal.
B12 is water soluble vitamin, so your body will easily excret excess, 5000mcg orally I would not say its low dose but its not mega dose. I have injectable B12 of 20mgs, ussually only use a quarter or a fifth of it per week, but it is injectable, in orals you have to account absortion which can be like 50% or less.
So maybe reduced to 2-3 times per week, and you should be fine.

Last time checked was almost 2 years ago and was at 734 pg/ml (range 193-982), its an expensive test for me here, dont remember how much was supplementing lol
