Done blood work, Dr put me on oral T - Questions

Hi, there's two parts of my question, let me first tell you the story, I'll try to make it short.

I'm male, 35 years old, married , never used hormones before in my life, not in any form. been having some symptoms lately, specially in bed , so I took a blood test.

Total testosterone and free testosterone both came low but within the normal range, but the lowest in normal (can post figures if needed) so I spoken to the doctor about my libido, and he prescribed to me oral T , brand is androil testocaps , each cap is 40mg and he told me to take 2 daily for one month.

Anyway I did some research and got few ideas, some say that you need so much dosing for caps to be effective now keep in mind I'm not doing this to be huge in the gym or get big, I just want to fix my testosterone levels , I do workout too do that would be nice too but it's not the porpuse of therapy.

So while researching I came across this thread and I felt frightened and scared

anabolic -steroids -questions-answers/515856-oral-only-cycle.html <--- this thread is here on the forums

Is this also true in my case? If so then how would a Dr prescribe this to me? He wants to help my testosterone production not kill it, then what are they talking about oral T in that thread and does it effect people like my case?

The second part of the question, Dr didn't talk to my about any PCT for afterwards, while researching I undrrstood that it's important to go pct to vons off shutdown, again I ask, does this situation include me and my case? In other word do I need any type of pct after taking testocaps twice a day for a month? If yes then the Dr I went to must be bad, as he never spoke about pct whenever I'm done with testocaps, all he said take twice a day for a month then come and we will do another testosterone blood test.

Sorry for the long msg, I'm waiting for responses before I start this therapy, my wife will be very happy if I get fixed using this oral pill

I'm not looking for a life long usage of hormones, will just 2 pills a day of this product cause this? or will it help my natural production of T? I really got freaked out by the thread I post above

I haven't posted my T results, I'll do now to get more opinions about what would people recommend me doing? Continue on pill or try nautally

    Total testosterone 9.29 nmol/L
    Free testosterone 0.18 nmol/L
    Free testosterone %. 1.94%
    Bio available testosterone 4.32 nmol/L
    Bio available testosterone % 46.5%

    Reference for all above

    Total testosterone (8.64 - 29.0)
    Free testosterone (0.86 - 05472)
    Bio available testosterone (0.28 - 2.8)

Taking androil caps will shutdown whatever natural testosterone you have left.

Testosterone replacement therapy is not something to be taken lightly as is for life. Unfortunnaly doctors dont know much about hormones and/or dont have patience to make a proper disgnostic. Low T is not a disease, it is a symptom of some other condition (unless it is due to aging).
This conditions can be something simple as life style and metabolic problems, but also possible much more complicated problems which is crucial to rule out.

Is this your complete bloodwork? Can you post the rest?

I've seriously never heard of a doctor prescribing Androil. Amazing. Where are you from?

You need to stop taking these and figure out what the issue is like BB said above. We need to see all your BW. If you don't have full BW you should request it. Check the Finding A Doc sticky thread at the top of the Hormone Replacement forum and use the first set.

This is what I've done as a blood work, Total T, and Free T, and Vitamin D, and Vitamin B6 ---- Vitamin D and B6 were normal.

I've also written the reference number of free T wrong, the range is from 0.086 to 05472 --- so my free T is fine actually, which is what the 2nd Doc told me.

Anyway just an update, I've stopped taking androil testocaps, only took 3 pills then stopped, now I am trying to figure out the issue and increase my T levels naturally. as I said before I actually went to another doctor this time a urologist for better diagnosis, He talked to me about my sex life and all what had happened to me, then saw the result of the blood work and kinda laughed and told me I'm fine, he said the erection issues are all in my head and are confidence issues.

He said my free testosterone are more than fine and then I talked to him about the other Dr and that he gave me Adriol testocaps, he also laughed and asked how on earth he gave me that, he said I don't need it, and I said I already took 3 caps he said it's ok just stop and 3 caps won't hurt you or shut me down.

Then he prescribed to me natural herb products which contain ginko, name of the product "Gentaplex" and another supp called Yunna, he said to take Gentaplex x3 a day and yunna just 1 hrs before sex for confidence.

Just felt I wanted to update what has happened to me today.

I will take gentaplex and ginseng and fish oil and also yunna, I might also take Ashwagandha and rhodiola rosea , do you guys think it's too much ??

Glad to hear it's a typo! When it comes to all the herbs, I'm honestly not that up on them. Do some research first at examine.com.

So you think my T levels are fine, or still low? some tells me it's that of a 80 year old T levels.

By the way one thing I forgot to mention is that my blood work was taken at night, specifically 9PM, very late at night, do you think the result would be within a normal range of a 35 year old male if I take it in the morning, because I read many articles suggesting the T levels would be 3 times higher if taken once I wakeup, don't know if thats true or not, but this is another thing that I'm considering to do, maybe will wait 2 months or so, then take a T blood work again but this time around in the morning.

Anyhow I don't know if I mentioned this, but one of the indications that is dazzling me is my progress in the gym, I've been progressing in the workout quite nicely, and adding muscle and weight nicely, which indicates a good T right? or is that not necceseraly true? also today when I woke up, I've got a wood fully erect, is that a good sign? or is it just the placebo effect from the 2nd Dr whom told me that I'm fine? I don't know, but I want to think i'm good and waitt for another 10 yrs at least before doing TRT (IF I really need it) point is, I want to stay natty and try to build muscles that way, but i also want to have good sex life & not to mention I want to have more kids in the next ten years, any one want to throw his opinion on me with all the details i've given + the result i've had.

For optimal hormone values it needs to be done first thing in the morning. How much higher it will be is unknown but the deviations in range lessen as we age. This backs up what I just said:

The Effect of Diurnal Variation on Clinical Measurement of Serum Testosterone and Other Sex Hormone Levels in Men

Definitely re-do your BW in the morning so you have accurate numbers to evaluate. Yes, your levels are not good, assuming I converted nmol to ng/dl properly your total T level is about 260?
