Estrogens and RAAS
Hello folks. Is well-known that estrogens cause water retention and high blood pressure. I suspect there's involved the RAAS ( renin–angiotensin–aldosterone system ). Many studies states that estrogens modulate renin and angiotension II activity ( and so Aldosterone ), improving cardiovascular profile. My question is: if this so, how is possible high estrogens cause water retention and high blood pressure if they should balance RAAS, towards a better cardiovascular profile ?
Thank you for your time.
