Apnea/trouble with air way staying open

A couple weeks into my 1st cycle my throat began closing up when I sleep. Never had this happen before and it started suddenly. Got a little worse and would shut when I was awake too. Have a constant feeling like something is in my throat. Dr thought it's acid reflux. Sort of gets better with acid medicine but not really. After the cycle I thought it would go away if it was related to the Test. It did not go away or get better at all. I figured it wasn't related to the cycle. Several months later I started 2nd cycle which I'm currently almost done with. This apnea has gotten so bad I can't sleep at all now I used to be able to find certain positions where my air way wouldn't close but now it closes as soon as I begin to fall asleep in every position. Throughout the day I feel like I am consciously holding my air way open so I can breathe. If I relax, even when awake, it closes up and I gasp. Haven't slept much in a while. Has anyone had this? Is it related to Test usage? Has anyone found a solution for it?

I seriously recommended seeing your doctor or ENT (ear nose throat) specialist. Even a sleep lab can provide helpful insight.

Sleep apnea and obstructed air way is no laughing matter. There are serious implications if left untreated in severe cases. I know there are very effective and accessible treatments that will have you back to normal asap. Good luck brother!

I thought I had apnea but I really had a deviated septum. When I got my septum fixed, I could breathe so much easier! As I got older, I feel the throat and tongue muscle drooping and choking off my air supply during sleep. I can control it by watching how I place my head but I also have a CPAP machine. Go see your doc and get a sleep test scheduled. Sleep apnea can kill you. I fell asleep behind the wheel going 75mph on the interstate. The only thing that saved me was I rear ended a truck going 70mph and I woke up.

This would seem like the best reason ever to stop using steroids , since a patent airway is pretty essential to life. How is your actual breathing? Respiratory rate? Depth? 02 sats? Heart rate? Blood pressure? Medical history? Age?
What are you taking for the acid reflux and what steroids are you on?

seems like a lot of ppl end up getting sleep apnea with Test use.

I ended up getting it, had a deviated septum. Had the uvula, tonsils and anoids removed. went from having 93 episodes an hour to 5. Everything in my throat was enlarged. I notice weight can be a factor also. I'm currently off of work due to achilles tendon surgery and gain some weigh and I don't sleep as good. But once I drop 20 lbs sleep improves.

I ended up getting apnea after starting TRT. I use a CPAP now.

My gut says I had it at a very mild level and TRT agitated it.

I know plenty of guys on test without it, and I've read tons of posts all over where people get it after being on test so I think it agitates an existing situation, but that again is just a guess I have nothing to back that up.

Now that I think back, I believe my sleep apnea started whenever I started TRT. I use a CPAP machine also. If TRT does impact sleep apnea I wonder if there is a surgical procedure in place that would eliminate the problem.

OK guys. I've seen several asking the same question about this and nobody ever comes back to tell us how they resolved it. I believe I figured mine out and this is how I resolved it.
I have severe acid reflux or "gerd". It irritated the epiglotis and even into nasal passages causing swelling which was closing up. I tried otc prilosec and pepcid ac which barely did anything. I switched to Nexium and it was better so I doubled up on the Nexium. My symptoms got much better but still there. Still had to sleep certain ways and by morning it was wearing off so I get an choking much more. Wasn't resolved. The Nexium was hurting my stomach. A friend of mine told me to take 1 shot Glass of Apple Cider Vinegar. Home remedies usually don't work so I didn't try it for a long time. Big mistake. I tried the Apple Cider Vinegar and within 30 mins there was a big difference. By bed time my symptoms were completely gone and I slept till morning with zero choking. I have been totally amazed!
Try it if you think it could be acid reflux. Don't blow it off like I did, just try it. I can't believe I lived with this since Jan (8 months) and I had the stuff in my kitchen cabinet the whole time.

I'm gonna find every thread I can about acid refux/gerd and tell them to try Apple Cider Vinegar. I swear to God it was like magic when I tried it.
