Ending a contest prep: Anavar advice
Age: 26
Height: 5'6
Weight:152-158lb
So I was prepping for a show and realized my coach I hired was awful and I hit a plateau at 152lbs coming from 160lbs. I plateaued and he had me going keto on 900 calories and two 45 sessions of cardio.
I am currently trying to get myself situated. I should of probably slowly add back in the carbs, but I was at 12g of carbs and seem to lack the willpower at this point. Instead I am going up around 150-200g of carbs (basically .3 c at 4 meals and added one more meal, 6 instead of my 5 the coach had me on.) I am insanely hungry all the time, and if I keep it lower, I tend to over eat.
Anyways he had me start my second var cycle. The first one he had me run for 8 weeks, at 10 mg a day. He told me I didn't have to split it, and I took 10 mg at once in the beginning of the day. Seeing all I am at now, this guy didn't know much. I barely look like I been dieting and it seems like my metabolism has slowed a lot.
So my issue is moving forward. I am not sure if I should drop the var until I can get my diet nailed again, or continue it and give myself the week to get use to the new diet. I have been on my second cycle for 1 week now. Frankly I didn't see much the first cycle but I think its because he had me on such high carbs and my body wasn't responding when we started to cut. I barely got to see any hard lines.
He also had me on clen with a 2 days on, 2 days off protocol. I am getting off that for sure until I get the diet fixed. I feel like this whole situation is so f***ed up, just not sure where to start.
Any advice will help.Last edited by ChiefLee; 08-23-2016 at 10:26 PM.

The show was in 10 weeks but knowing that the huge change in carbs/dropping my coach and etc etc, I will probably just wait to hit the stage until next year.
I couldn't get in my head how to even increase my carbs and fats from where I was, I was barely able to function.. and still look like S***.

Do you have any current pictures you can post? How long has it been now since you have increased your calories and how much weight have you put on in that time frame? Also can you post the diet that your ex-coach had you follow

OP,
Are you a girl?
No offense. I am guessing you are from your anavar dosage.

This has been 3 days now. I don't have the diet on my computer but it was like this
Meal 1: 8 egg whites
Meal 2: 40g whey protein
Meal 3: 6 oz Chicken on green salad, no dressing
Meal 4: 35g Whey
Meal 5: 6 oz Fish on green salad
Then i was cycled in a high fat day where my grams of fat went from 12g - > 95g which made me feel gross.

I "think" you're over thinking things a bit
Some coaches srsly don't know jack from shit - by some, I mean most - Not to say there aren't good ones out there
IMO - you figure out what works for you & from your AVi(if that is you in it) you seem to know I few things already

If you're going to wait until next year you have some time to stabilize your diet and workout. I would go to a 30/30/40 (fat/protein/carb) diet for 4 weeks to see how your body looks. If you're still looking smooth, I'd slowly increase the protein and drop the carbs to 30/35/35. Use this as your baseline. If you look a little drawn out, add a little carb. If you look round, drop a little carb. Adjust your carb slowly so you can "tune" in your diet. Good luck

Ha yes and I like having a coach because I tend to over"think" a lot.
I can't believe what my coach had me doing, he has years and years, decades of experience body building and yet only after 2 years in the industry, I smelt bullshit. Sadly it took a while for me to catch on.

Thanks for the advice. Right now I am no where near that. When I increased my caloric intake and macros however, I bloated like a balloon.
Right now I dropped down to the diet I was on before but increasing my carbs by 25-30g a week and fats 10g but will carb cycle every 3rd day to add in more food and get the metabolism going.
I just hate being bloated!

Im not sure what to do with my current cycle either.
I was on anavar for 8 weeks, 10mg a day, dosage only in the AM. (per coaches orders). I know time on=time off, but he had me start my next cycle at just 4 weeks off. So now I been back on it for a week. Do you think I should just stop it, and wait the four weeks or continue?

If you continue try splitting your dose too... It does impact some differently I have to pin more often to keep stable blood levels that's just me...
As far as continue - sounds like coming off and getting things squared away(and i agree w/Samson you know how to Train) w/your Diet... Do you think you'll make yiur show? If not come off get squared and primed for growth or if cutting start then start with that...
If you didn't do your show - would you wait for a later date or pick up next year and try and grow in the offseason?! Just trying to figure out what you want/or are doing?!

That is what I wanted to do first.
I don't want to rush for the show because I hate rushing any shows lol. The stage will always be there. I get super disciplined when cutting but never actually had a full off season. HOWEVER, to keep me focused, I am trying to look at the reverse dieting more seriously in the idea I want to cut still, but up my intake. I think I need a serious season for recomping my body. I am still 20lbs over my stage weight, just haven't been able to get the weight down, which is another red flag that my metabolism isn't working its best.
I think that I will probably wait until 2017 to hop back on stage. I don't have much definition in my legs when i am leaned out and want to work on that. I know anavar can be used for women in both the on and off season but really want to look into growing the wheels. Yes my avatar is me, so I get super lean up top, but will hold fat and cellulite on my legs almost until 3 weeks before getting on stage.
I am just in a tough spot i feel because I'm just now peaking my calories around 1000, yet my body fat is still around 18 and I'm sitting at 155lb (which I was 130- something on stage), and this is after cutting for 6-7 weeks. I can't exactly build, and my calories are so low I'm not sure if its helping with a cut. I inquired with a new coach, like i said i over think a lot of things, and waiting for them to get back to me for my next step.

I used to carb cycle but I don't anymore. I find that I don't really need to because; 1) I found that carb cycling isn't a long term solution for me. I can't stay on that diet year around. I can stay on 30/30/40 year around and look pretty lean and when I want to look cut, I just adjust my protein/carb ratio just a little. Much easier to reverse out of the diet also. 2) It was more taxing on me mentally. I was more uncomfortable on this diet as I wanted to eat carbs all the time. Don't get me wrong, carb cycling works. As I stated above, eating a normal, controlled diet, gave me the look I wanted and I felt satiated all the time.

yeah I like carb cycling but its hard on me mentally. I like it more as a tool for cutting down but I found if I just up everything, I can deal with it better and my body will respond eventually.

Ending a contest prep Anavar advice
My honest take? If people cannot prep without all the fake stuff then competing is not for them. It is only 12 weeks. Not a life time.
