Wk 4 of first cycle, question!

I'm in my 4th week of a 400 mg test cyp cycle. I've been experiencing muscle cramps or aches in my sleep that will wake me up. Its been pretty much all week. Any thoughts?

Supplement with magnesium citrate, 250mg X 2 daily.

Also, you might have an electrolyte imbalance.
Unless you're using any potassium sparing drugs,
supplementing with a 750mg potassium chloride (depot) daily shouldn't hurt.

But some blood work is the only way to know for sure.

However, both the magnesium and potassium/Kalium isn't going to hurt if you got normal kidney function and not on any potassium sparing diuretics.

Magnesium citrate (or other organic bound magnesium salts)
can help with aches and cramps even when not in magnesium defiency per se.

I do take magnesium supps in the morning. Also I drink 16 oz no sugar added coconut water with my protein/post workout which is full of potassium and magnesium.

You may just be experiencing some restless leg. Like Doc said the only way to know if it's a deficiency is through blood work. Good luck bro!

Cramps and aches are different things. In which muscle, or muscles?

Did you change anything in your workouts?

How many rest days you have?

yeah like 1 week into cycle I got diagnosed with osteolysis of my distal clavicle (lifters shoulder) so I have since had to limit and pressing/overhead work. I've been absolutely killing the legs and core. I've also increased the cardio (running/airdyne) since on cycle. The cramps have been all quads and glutes. It just doesn't feel like a typical cramp.

Rest for a week and see if the aches continue.

It's funny you ask that I was reading a post yesterday about lowering sodium intake, as I was putting a handful of sunflower seeds in my mouth. I thought it was around 1800 - 2400 mg's, not taking into consideration the sunflower seeds. Up until recently I chewed Copenhagen and over the last week substituted with sunflower seeds. I was doing some reading yesterday and dropped the seeds in the trash.

Sodium is an essential electrolyte and if your intake is too low then you may experience cramps.

I don't put much faith in proponents of low sodium diets because research has shown that high sodium diets are just as healthy.

Plus if you get your sodium intake right it will help you lift heavier.

Eating roughly 12 grams of sodium is more beneficial to my strength than taking creatine.

I miss the days of cope long cut and cope black.

It's been a long time for me also.

Haven't even smelled a can in like 5 years.

Crazy how addictive that stuff is, there's times where I'd step over my own mom for a can of skoal mint lol.

I was a skoal original fine cut wintergreen guy. Tried copes. Cope was the only long cut I could stand and that was because it was about the same length as skoal fine cut. I picked up cigarettes after 8 or ten years of chewing. Bad idea should have stuck to skoal. Now once in a while I buy a can to smoke less tobacco... that is what they mean by smokeless right?lol
