    Clenbuterol and propranolol

I was doing some research on clenbuterol and was interested in trying it out. I currently take propranolol and was a little concerned that it might be a waste to take clen while on propranolol.

Does anyone have experience with the combination of these drugs?

I've never taken both but I can tell you that this is not a good idea.

It doesn't make sense for you take a drug that prevents hypertension and palpitations at the same time as a drug that causes hypertension and palpitations.

Not a pharmacist, but good with physiology. One is meant to stimulate the sympathetic nervous system (thus the weight loss) and the other is meant to block the sympathetic nervous system - seems like an odd combination.

Are you trying to block the adverse effects of the clenbuterol on the cardiovascular system, if so I see your logic, but don't think the beta blocker (propranolol) would be restricted to just that.

It wouldn't be that big of an issue if they didn't affect the same receptors.

However, one is an agonist while the other is an antagonist for the same receptors.

Propranolol blocks β1 and β2 receptors.

Whereas clen binds to β2 receptors and causes them to activitie.

Not trying to block the side effects of clen, but I am prescribed propranolol for hbp. I actually only take the propranolol when my Bp is high... I'm on the borderline of hbp so depending on several factors, it swings into the high area occasionally, but I keep a close eye on it.

My concern was that propranolol would completely block the effects of clen making it a total waste to take. Clen is a beta andrenergic agonist and propranolol is a beta blocker, so it blocks beta andrenergic receptors. If everything I read is correct, then propranolol would block out clenbuterol. I'm sure it's dose dependent and there are other factors to consider such as half lives and what not, but I just want to know if anyone has personal experience with the combination of these two drugs, or if they know for certain one cancels out the other.

If you have High Blood Pressure, Clen could kill you (even w/out proponolol). But, combining the two may get the job done faster. On the bright side, death also causes weight loss.

Well shit, I never knew this. I'll just stick with the bleach, it's cheaper and I'm sure it works faster.

They directly oppose each other. Why would you even consider clen if you need beta blockers?

I wouldn't say I need them, I really only take them to keep my bp lower if I notice it gets a little high. My bp fluctuates from normal to borderline hypertension. Anytime I see a new doctor or need a script renewal I basically tell them to write me a script for it. Getting prescriptions here in the US seems to be easy if you tell the doc what you want and why. But I see what you mean, they definitely counteract each other so I wouldn't take them together, and with a sensitivity to bp changes I will steer away from clen. I was just looking for answers from members with experience with both drugs.

I've cycled clen many times. Each time at 40mcg, I can hear my own heart beating in my ears. I mean, when I lie down to bed I can feel my heal pulsating with each heart beat. Clen is serious stuff. Serious as a heart attack. No pun intended. LOL
