Borderline blood test should I donate blood?
I need some help here I need to know if I should donate blood or no. Doc still say you're fine but my blood was thick I new it's high RBC before even the lab bring out the results.
Now 2 years ago my RBC was high little bit according to the blood test paper it show as
RBC (5.8) (4.32-5.72) normal range.
2 days ago I had blood test and it show borderline RBC range RBC (6.28.) (4.3-6.3)
My hemoglobin was borderline too
Hgb (17.2) (14.0 - 18.0)
I asked the doc to donate but still saying you're fine while I can feel my blood is thick now should I donate or no? And if yes how much I must donate and for how long?
Thank you.

They'll test your blood before they use it. If it's not within spec, they'll not use it. So don't worry about it and give blood.

You don't need to know how much they take and all the particulars. All you need to do is show up and let them do their thing. I don't know where you are but in the states you can donate blood every 60 days. And like someone else said, you should do it no matter what your CBC numbers are.

Bonaparte said donating lowers HDLcholestrol.

Sure he didn't say it helped the cholesterol profile?
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3663474/
Cause donating seems to lower both total cholesterol and LDL.

I don't know what he said, but donating seems to be pretty healthy for men in general, especially AAS users since we don't usually have any problem with low RBC/Hb (hematocrit).
And while it would in theory lower both HDL and LDL to the same degree,
I'd suspect it would be positive for the lipid profile overall.
That can easily be found out by digging around some in pubmed.
The link I provided seemed to point to a benefit on cholesterol.
And last point; donating helps society as well, which is easy to forget,
but when u think about it, is a very important.
Just imagine a loved one in an accident and they say:
"Sorry, we're all out of blood today!"
Off topic, but btw; say YES to organ donation!Last edited by DocToxin8; 01-24-2017 at 06:48 AM.

I probably just meant that it will lower everything in your bloodstream by an equal portion (obviously). But everything except RBC's will bounce back real fast.
