Gyno Prevention
What's up guys, I'm searching for advice regarding the prevention of gyno. I'm 22 years old currently 6' 0" and I weigh 215. I just came off of my last season of playing college football and now I'm getting involved in bodybuilding. I have major weight room and athletic experience but 0 experience when it comes to AAS. I'm thinking about running Test Cypionate at 400mg/per week and using dbol at 30 mg/per week to put on some mass before I compete. However, I know dbol and cyp both have side effects of gyno which can ruin your physique. I'm thinking about running arimidex with it but don't know the right timing for it throughout my cycle and at what dosage.
I have done my research and talked to many people about this topic but I can't seem to find a consistent answer. One person I spoke to said to wait a few weeks to use the anti-estrogen so that the effects from the test are fully maximized. I also talked to another powerlifter who said to use the anti-estrogen right away in my cycle. I haven't found a consistent answer so if anyone could shed some light on this topic that would be greatly appreciated!

The only question I have to that is if I use the arimidex as soon as I start my injections will the testosterone be able to bind to something still? Also, should I use .5mg or .25mg of arimidex?

People start at .25 but if you have a higher body fat or are sensitive it may need to be bumped up to .5...only way to know for sure is to have blood tests done to make sure your estrogen levels stay as they were pre cycle.

22 is a bit young to start a cycle too..if I were you I would train hard for 3 more years and see where I got naturally, then decide if you still want to use aas once your body is fully developed. What is your BF%?

There would be nothing worse than to be 23, big as fuck, and no urge whatsoever to have sex. You can do permanent damage, and there are guys on this forum in their mid 20's with ED. Not trying to scare you off, just don't take the decision lightly.

Wait until 25 when you are sure your body is fully developed. If you hop on before that you are going to have all kinds of problems. Your natural test will still be crazy high so don't fuck it up and take advantage of it. The better your natural base the better gear will work when you start.

I'm around 10-12% body fat and I have very good genetics. The most I've ever benched was 375 and the most I've squatted was 605. A lot of people already think I'm on gear. I've had a lot of people tell me that if I take the sport of bodybuilding seriously that I could have a bright future in it. And seeing as how every other competitor on stage will be on gear, it almost leaves me no option if I want to successfully compete

I would imagine that if you're a college athlete finishing up your last year, you're pretty well developed. I'm with the others in saying you'd be better off waiting, but if you plan to compete, you're going to need to get things going pretty soon. Look at Phil Heath for example. Same situation. Had he of waited to 25, do you think he'd be where he is today? For the average gymrat, like myself, waiting would be far more smarter than jumping on just to get some looks. But for someone who is serious about competing, not just saying they want to, it's smarter to get started sooner rather than later. You just have to be intelligent and use your brain. Err on the side of caution and don't get crazy with your doses. Think about long term things as well. Children in the future? Libido? Law breaking? Etc. All of this has to be considered. Weigh out the pros and cons. If you decide to go the route of anabolics, use every precaution available to you and use all ancillaries you need to.

Chances of you being the next Mr. O are very slim. It is not worth destroying your body for pennies. Stay in school or get into an apprenticeship for a union trade. You need to focus on a real career. Build your natty foundation. I honestly think it's stupid to cycle unless you are on Trt. You will lose most of the gains and fuck up your natural testosterone . If you have good natural testosterone take advantage of it. I got to 6ft 230lbs at 10%bf with low testosterone so you have no excuse. When I got tested my total testosterone was 148.

The best answer is to avoid cycling until your system is fully mature. That would be 25 years old. Running a cycle at 22 puts you at higher risk of developing unwelcome issues such as ED (don't believe it just won't happen to you). Of course you see peers doing cycles with amazing results and being apparently well, but truth is, problems won't necessarily show immediately, but only manifest later in the years. So duh, your best bet on mental, physical and sexual health other than gains and vanity is to wait a few years. That's nothing.
I see also your new bbulding. I fail to see a reason to use AAS now. You need to build a strong foundation and strenghten your tendons/ligaments first. You are young and still have plenty of room to grow naturally, if diet is on point.
Have respect for both your body and the compounds. You don't want to inject steroids for aesthetic purpose while hindering your health. Safe approach exists though, but you need to educate yourself first. The AAS lifestyle is not to be taken lightly, and serious adverse reactions can occur.
As for your question, gyno is only an extreme manifestation of estrogen excess and it's a rare occurrence. That being said, the dangers from high E2 (another name for estradiol, the main estrogen) are mostly internal and not visible.
The only valuable prevention is to use an AI. Arimidex/anastrozole is the most common used. Standard dosage is .25mg (1/4th of pill) EOD.

You've got your work cut-out for you either way. As far as a foundation to work with, you'll make a coach/trainer happy.

How much money do you plan on making from competing? Even winning at some of the highest levels you are still going to be in the red because you are going to spend more money to get there then you are going to make. Stay natty and compete locally if that's what you want. See how that goes and it will give you a better idea of what you really need to do.

I see what you're saying for sure. But that's the case with most probably sports outside of ball. I was on the pro circuit as a semi pro for a couple of years with the flw (what it was),and it's not worth it if you're in it for the money. Really anytime you're in a career for the money, that's not necessarily a good thing. It's motivation for the competitive spirit though. Anyways, even top pros in bass fishing only make 30-40k gross income. To 3 MIGHT break 100, but there is thousands who still try to get one every year.
