Hey bro, as long as u use a kit and filter the fina with the coffee filter and then the whatman theres no need to heat. Cant tell u how many vials iv made up for me or other bros and iv never had any troubles not heating. Good luck!

Heat does nothing for the process but to speed it up. Enough heat to affect bacteria will oxidize your solution.
The oil is already sterile, and there is enough benzl alcohol and benzl benzoate in the magic solution to kill off any contaminates you may introduce in the mixing process.......and, of course, the purpose of the Whatman is to remove bacteria and impurities. If you are the cautious sort, order a finer grade Whatman filter and run the solution through a second time.
