I only did volunteer for New York State so I'm not sure how yours works where you are. I'm also military. Most public safety/ governmental employees are typically subject to steroid testing. It can be ordered if it's suspected. Most testing is ordered for illicit "party" drugs/ drugs used to achieve some sort of high

I several friends, that are firefighters, that cycle regularly. Apparently there department doesn't test
