    Qwik Blood Work question

    Got a Dr. Appointment today at 2:45 pm, in about 8 hours

    I want to make sure im good to run next cycle. So this is what I think I need checked;

    LH & FSH
    LDL, HDL & TOTAL CHOLESTEROL
    THYROID FUNCTION
    LIVER FUNCTION
    FREE TEST
    TOTAL TEST
    SENSITIVE E2
    PROLACTIN
    PROGESTIN
    BLOOD GLUCOSE

    Anything else you can think of?
    Also what are the proper terms for liver function ? Is it ACL?

    please gimme some advice, as this doctor is a good friend of the family, and I'm taking him the truth, he's on board, just he's not an Endo. So h may not know exactly what to check. I want to be thorough.

    Why LH and FSH ?

    Are you currently not on TRT?

    Liver enzymes you wanna check;

    ALAT
    Gamma-GT

    Kidney markers;

    Creatinine (expect this to be elevated on cycle or with much muscle tissue)
    BUN (blood urea nitrogen)

    You could throw in more non specific markers for both liver and muscle
    LDH, CK, ASAT... but not really any point.

    Only other thing is to check for stuff like vitamin and mineral status;
    VIT D, etc.

    Oh, and instead of just cholesterol,
    You can also test for apolipoprotein A & B.

    hi doc. how much muscle mass do you need for creatinine to be elevated and does creatie supplementation affect it?? mine always comes back high and im like 190 14 percent bf at 6 foot.

    also you were right about the liver enzymes being elevated when lifting. ast and alt has been coming back high for the past couple years and i had to take a week or two off lifting and had a blodd test scheduled and they came back at like 15 both haha

    Alright doc I was also thinking rbc and such.

    I'm not on cycle, I been off since December completed pct in beginning February.

    I'm getting required checks to see if I'm good to go for this next cycle.

    Doc, can you please give me a list of tests to show him when I go? I'm also fasted for 13 hours when I get there at 245pm est.

    Just a list is all I need.

    I forgot about the RBC's.
    They're good to monitor in case of too high hematocrit.

    RBC (red blood cell count)
    Hemoglobin
    Hematocrit (not really needed when you have the first two, but it's a quick way to gauge both hemoglobin and RBC)

    In case of infection or strange reactions;
    WBC (white blood cells)
    Diff. WBC (differential WBC's gives a status of the different types of white blood cells; can give a pointer in some disease states,
    don't know if it really applies with juicing, but doesn't hurt.

    Otherwise I'd just do the hormone panel;
    LH, FSH (pituitary function, not needed on TRT)
    Total T, free T, SHBG
    E2

    Liver;
    ALAT, GAMMA-GT

    Kidney:
    Creatinine
    (There is a newer kidney marker that's often used now,
    don't remember the name though)
    BUN

    Cholesterol: HDL, LDL
    Apolipoprotein A, apolipoprotein B

    Triglycerides, serum-glucose and Hb1ac (if in fear of diabetes)

    Impossible to say when creatinine is affected really,
    mine is nearly always just over ref range.
    Maybe normal if I haven't trained for a week or two, but idk.
    My kidney function is very good however.

    ASAT and ALAT (ALAT not as much) will be affected by training.

    High creatinine and BUN can be the sign of something wrong with your kidneys.
    Creatinine is produced by the breakdown of creatine or phosphocreatine by the muscles.

    Btw, high creatinine values does not equate to bad kidney function.
    Neither will creatine supplements affect creatinine levels to any great degree, though it certainly could in theory.

    But high creatinine WITH high BUN is very worrisome.
    And high creatinine itself should always be investigated too, even though it's usually harmless in bodybuilders.

    In my case, creatine did affect my creatinine levels. While trying to get on TRT, dr had me stop all supplementation ( I was using creatine). 3 months worth of blood tests. High BUN and high creatinine. Additional testing showed kidneys were fine, but it did give me a scare.

    Your fine. The elevated Bun to Creatinine is probably (my guess) due to dehydration. I'm also quite sure you eat a high protein diet which contributes to this as well. I would doubt it's anything beyond that but as always checking it consistently is the key.

    Hey kel, I just noticed my "FREE TEST" is below test range, my values are 34.3 pg/ml and test range is 35-155 pg/ml.

    Free test is the real story as compared to total test, correct? So I'm a low T human?

    It is slightly low. FT is what works for you, not total T.
    I'd be curious where your shbg is at this time.
    How long after your last cycle & pct was this BW pulled?

    Kel please gimme some educated insight. I'm having a hard time with love handle/lower belly fat at the moment. Seems like it just won't go away. Cardio and diet be damned
