    Dumb slin pin question.

From the HCG guide by austinite:

"Once you've completed your mix above, you now have a 5,000 iu vial that contains 1,000 iu's of hCG for every CC. So if you want to shoot 250iu, that would be 0.25 CC/ML. Or 25 units on a slin pin."

I have insulin pins for my hCG but they say 1ml x 40 units. And 25 units is greater than half the 1ml pin.

If I have 5 ml bottle of 5,000 iu vial that contains 1,000 iu's of hCG for every CC how many "units" should I use for .25 cc? Still 25 units or 40 x .25?

That's confusing. It looks like the pins are 1ml but for 40 units of insulin. Insulin is usually 100units per ml so the graduations of 25 units/.25ml would be the same. On this pin you want 1/4 or .25ml, so divide the total units (40) by 4 and 10 units = .25ml, which for your HCG will be 250iu.

By the way, that wasn't a dumb question.

Thank you. That's what I was thinking. Glad I checked first.

Are those vet pins? I think insulin for cats is 40units/ml...
