Hey Guys -
About 4 weeks ago my right nipple became slightly tender (4 out of 10 pain scale) and I felt a lump behind my nipple. Being that I have taken steroids before, I feared that this was Gyno. The tenderness did not go away and the lump was still there so I decided to go to the doctor this morning. My physician referred me to get an ultrasound where the Radiologist confirmed I have gyno in my right nipple.
This is unfortunate but I believe it is its very early stages b/c my chest looks rather normal for someone my age and I would not have gone to the Doc if it weren't for the slight tenderness and the small lump. I am scheduled for a follow up next week with the doctor to discuss next steps.
Do you think this is a result of my steroid use from 4.5 years ago or could it be something new that caused this. I have read that Letrozol can help reduce the gyno as well. Has any one had success with that medicine before? I guess I am just looking to prevent this from growing into something noticeable and actually painful. Any advice is appreciated.
