First Cycle Questions about Anavar and Test
I'm age 23, and am currently 6'2, 210lb, at 11% body fat. I am an athlete, and have been weightlifting for almost 4 years now and would like to start off by saying that the goal of my first cycle is not to strictly gain mass or a more aesthetic look, but is purely based on the need to take my athletic performance to the next level. I want strength gains, with a loss of body fat, and any mass gains would be considered a bonus at this point. I have been researching cycles for about 2 weeks now, and have felt that an anavar cycle would be best for my needs, but also noticed that anavar only cycles seem to be quite controversial. Ive seen many posts about people arguing that test is needed in an anavar cycle, and I was a bit curious as to why. People said that it would suppress your natural HTPA, but dont injections of test also suppress your natural production? I was a bit confused on this and couldnt figure out what the benefit of test was other than gaining more mass ( which isnt my goal). If im off here, please let me know, Im a beginner and am trying to gain all the information I can before my first cycle. I dont want to permanently screw up my test, so any information you have to provide will be really helpful. I AM NOT AFRAID OF INJECTIONS, and am totally fine with it if its whats best for my cycle. One post I read said that dosing anavar with a TRT dose of injections could be beneficial, as it would be a low dose of maintenance test to help with the cycle, and that is what I am leaning towards if I do in fact need to be taking test injections. I am also planning on doing a PCT with Clomid and Nolva for anyone who would like that info as well.
EDIT: I would also like to point out that I am planning on only taking 40mg of Anavar a day at a split dosage for 6 weeks. It's a short cycle and low dosage, which is something to take into consideration as well. Would such a short and mild cycle cause shutdown? or just a bit of suppression?
