    Kidney protection

I have no idea about how to protect my kidneys.
We all add stress with a high protein diet and training
But what can we do to protect our kidneys?
So many BB's and crossfitters die young of kidney failure but I dont hear talk of it.

#1 what are all the causes of kidney stress?
#2 how do we prevent them?
#3 how do we treat damaged kidneys?

most common cause of kidney stress are
    - nonsteroidal anti-inflammatoreis (tons of guys take aleve or ibuprofen for muscle soreness and aches, horrible for your kidneys)
    - dehydration (tons of athletes get dehydrated)
    - high blood pressure (working out in general raises blood pressure, AAS can raise it more and this damages the kidneys over time)
    - high blood sugars (excessive amounts of sugary foods and not controlling blood sugar or getting yourself insulin sensitive will damage kidneys , much more then high protein diet)

keep these things in check and you'll be fine. no need to spend money on BS supplements

Interesting. I actually never considered Nsaids other than for liver harm.
Hyration is definitely my most common problem in this area.
    Thank you for the post.
