    Denied TRT at clinic

So I went back to the TRT clinic to get another round of blood work done. This time I spoke to the main doc and he said he’d have a really hard time prescribing me TRT at 471 total test. Waiting to see what today’s levels will be after today's draw.

I know I can just get some test online and fake a low level on the comedown, but honestly will I feel that much better at 800 vs 471? I'm talking energy level, mood, etc?

A pretty shotty description from myself from my previous endo

She said that it honestly depends on the person which can be tricky. One man's baseline could be 700 while another 500 yet the man on 500 has a considerably higher active life style and health routine. I was denied too but was also at the age where my "low test and depression" symptoms could be self treatable. Primary care doctor wanted to push for the lab results but the endos final words were much along the lines of what yours said.

My experience was different in full. My endo was happy and excited to give me the results due to it being well within range. Hence why she wanted me to be active and self regulate rather then therapy.

They can prescribe it, they're beating around the bush. Try other clinics maybe ones more focused on male health.

No doubt someone else can give a much further in detail answer. Please and please take this for a grain of salt, bye

Are you feeling depressed, have erectile dysfunction, low energy such that you can't keep up with a normal life? If not then no replacing what you already have won't change anything.

I had all the symptoms of low t, had trouble getting on trt bc levels were mid 400. Doc kept saying it was depression even though I knew it wasnt (as I was not depressed). Ive read how low t symptoms can happen with levels up to 500 (although very rare). Tell the doc that fact. But what you really need to do is find a doc that, "cares about treating symptoms more than numbers."
Although I ruled out all other medical causes first with lots and lots of tests (there are numerous things that can cause those symptoms. Thyroid issues, lyme disease, etc). Do not go on TRT for life unless you are absolutely sure that is the cause.

    Yes to all of those.

I did a pretty comprehensive blood panel and nothing much came up. Only IGF was a little high at 330 (80-240). Don't have insurance and can't really get a ton of tests.

What about the pituitary MRI you were supposed to do??

Still have to get that done. Endo in my family doesn't seem too worried about it, either was the TRT doc I just spoke to. Might have to get some crappy insurance that covers MRIs for that one. I think if levels were over 400 it would get the Drs more worried.

Gonna get another full blood panel done in 2 weeks including IGF and see where it is at that point. I just wish I could expedite this process, this feeling is really wearing me down.

For me, the benefits of TRT are particularly related to the increase in DHT. I was off the scale low and now I'm on the high side of the range. All of the quality of life issues are gone.

From my experience even if you get put on trt not every doctor is going to want you at 800.
There are many factors they will look at to decide what dosage they will prescribe.

I have to get the LH/FSH checked, I didn't do that with my first blood work and they didn't offer that to be checked at the TRT clinic. Will get that checked in 2 weeks.

Free test was about 11.2 on the 8.5-25 scale.

Try a different clinic. Most will want to get you at least 1000-1500ng/dl

That's crazy. Wouldn't trust that clinic anymore.
