Is it common place for UGLS to use Pharmaceutical Grade Solvents or is it pretty rare?
It's common for them to claim they use USP solvents, but I know for a fact some don't.
Most of the solvents like Ethyl Oleate is more commonly used in the perfume industry. When you say "pharma" grade EO, I don't know what that means. The EO that use always works fine and I never have had any issues with my brew. What else will pharma grade add to my current successful brews?
It's just a classification like kosher.
In the hydroponics fertilizer industry they have 2 types of raws, pharmaceutical grade and lab grade.
All pharma grade is is the company pays more for a official inspection and classification.
Same with organics.
OMRI certification is allot of money just to have the OMRI stamp on the fertilizer.
No difference if a company has product a registered or not.
EO is also used in injection molding of plastics/ phenolics as a plasticizer ( one of the reasons vial stoppers and syringe plungers degrade after prolonged exposure).
Unfortunately some UGLs don't care if it is industrial grade EO which has much lower requirements for purity than .. say the EO used in PIO injections by surrogate mothers.
