    Test cycle NO GAINS HELP.

Ok so my buddy is running his first ever cycle. Its 600mg of Test per week. Hes 9 weeks in and has actually lost weight. He assures me hes eating right and his workouts are on point and I believe him. But hes seen no muscle gains at all and is actually down in weight. His balls shrunk up, he got some acne but no gains or even water retention. We know the gear is good.. it came from pharmacom and the rest of us had good results with it. Has anyone heard of this? I was reading online that a small percentage of men that take test will actually be affected opposite and lose muscle weight etc. Is this true? I think hes going to go in and have his test levels checked but they have to be high if his balls shrunk. Thanks for the help

He doesn't know how to train, eat sleep
i'm on less gear and making tons of progress year round

does he have a solid base to start from? (his body/muscle balance)
What does his training look like?

Check the scale, the scale doesn't lie. I too thought I wasn't gaining much by week 10 and I was actually up 7 lbs. Honestly though, I'm seeing better results just doing TRT (125 mg/week) + 500iu HCG /week than when I was putting in 800 mg test. However, depends what you want. I don't want to get any bigger, I'm big enough, I just want to look good. High test was making me bloated and red.

EDC... he says hes doing 20 to 25 reps per body part going to failure around 10 reps. I've quizzed him on all this and hes saying all the right thing. Hes taking mass gainer etc. I thought it was his workouts at first too and maybe it is. But hes saying the right things. We are both stumped. And he was in good shape prior to starting. Not fat with a nice build. So if hes working out and eating right he should be getting gains correct. Theres no way around that?

if hes loosing weight gear or not he is not eating enough. tell him to get rid of the mass gainer and eat real food i have made the same mistake before.

And if the dude is taking weight gainer... bro I was taking weight gainer my first year of lifting. If "he" hasn't figured out that weight gainer is absolute bullshit, "he" has no business doing steroids . This is why they say don't do steroids until your 30's. I guess I was too smart to start that young. Too many idiots in this world, and this forum.

I just can't understand the whole weight gainer thing, they would get more progress eating solid good food rather than trying to cram down protein shakes and weight gainers to get in more calories... Dave Tate's suggestions are always some of my favorites when it comes down to bulking up or gaining weight...

Mass gainers is not eating right. There's also no magic number for reps and sets. Muscle hypertrophy comes from time under muscle tension and everyone's body is different. Some people need huge volume, some need little. It also depends on how much control and form is being used on the lift and the weight selected. The body doesn't magically give up at 10 reps and say alright I'm done now the muscle will grow. That's his mind giving up, not his body.

    (1) He's following a cookie cutter routine
    (2) He doesn't know how to feed his body (case in point mass gainers)
    (3) He's not in sync with his body's requirements

So it's no wonder he is not seeing any results.

If theres anything to take from the post it's this...

First time I've heard someone accuse test to cause muscle loss lol.

That being said you can be on 40 grams of test a week but if diet is insufficient... It will do almost nothing

Let me throw this out there. 3 years ago was all psyched to do my very first blast @ 500 mg. Test / week. Training hard and eating right ( knew this cause upon starting TRT, in the previous 6 months lost 4% bf & gained 10 pounds of muscle (not bad for being 57). Monitored by under water weighing.

8 weeks into the blast, 1-2 pounds gained. I was frustrated & of course was told to eat more. Ate good & clean.

Week 13 had gained 12 pounds, strength appreciably increased & mirror showed more muscle (but a bit smooth).

Underwater weighing says? Increase in 4% bf and slight decrease in lean muscle percentage.

I've used the same place for 4x, always reliable.

This time around, test will not be my primary compound.

took me a while too... 250mg Test is my base now other compounds do the work. Don’t get me wrong I do love test there’s just better compounds for mass, strength and over all look.

    This statement contracts itself

From this alone, I will say he dies not know to train properly.

If he's doing 20-25 reps and reaching failure @ 10th rep, then how is he getting the remaining 15 rep's?

What he really means is the set doesn't get hard until the 10th rep, and that obviously tells he doesn't have that drive or mind muscle connection. He's doing those 60 year old housewife planet fitness sets

    Just going through the motions.

He must not be eating. You said you believe him but if you don't watch him eat then I don't see how he can be. I don't see how he's not making gains even if he's not eating enough. I don't see how it would even be possible for test to cause any type of muscle loss whatsoever. This is a very weird situation.
