    inguinal hernia

Who’s had one? . . Mine’s on the right side about an inch above the shaft, running down the crotch line

It pops most when I’m under strain in my very low abdominal area(it’s damn near all fine when I lift real weights) - possibly 1/2 at most - I can pop it back in, or if I flex it pops back in

The PA said it’s not through the fat layer & just watch it - and it doesn’t require immidiate attention(just to keep an eye on it)

What’s the likely hood of this pos going away? I am now doing a full regimen of groin exercises

And if most likely this pos gets bigger - how’s the recovery?

Fuckin annoying ass shit - I’m thinking if I will need this shit worked on, I’ll prob do my gyno removal at the same time - I just don’t want to get surgery happy - just one, that’s it - like my cycle

I had one but I was like 10 years old. So not sure it counts. I don't think they just go away on their own. I had surgery. I remember it being pretty uncomfortable for a while. Week or two maybe? But i don't recall many restrictions beyond the first few days. I recall going outside and being active. Just being uncomfortable.

The resulting bulge can be painful, especially when you cough, bend over or lift a heavy object. An inguinal hernia isn't necessarily dangerous. It doesn't improve on its own, however, and can lead to life-threatening complications. ... Inguinal hernia repair is a common surgical procedure.Jan 6, 2018

    From the Mayo clinic.

    I'd get it fixed

I've known few people that had them

My uncle had one. They don't just go away. When your doctor is telling you to keep an eye on it what he's saying is don't do anything to aggravate it or possibly make the tear worse, being that you lift heavy or even lift it all you're bound to make that thing ripped more and you're going to have a knot of intestine sticking out doesn't matter if it's in the fat layer or not if it's thru abdominal wall, then it needs fixed

The fix it by putting mesh there

I had an umblical one repaired last year and ive had friends fix inguinal ones. The repair is laproscopic, one little slit by your belly button and your back to moving around in a few days, and back to full throttle in 8 weeks. Fix it during the winter so ur not tearing your hair out stuck inside during the nice weather months. Hgh and lots of hearty foods is key. 2 months is a blip on the radar compared to a full year of training if you really think about it.

I cruised during recovery, then started a cycle. immeditely when i could train again. It didnt hold me back at all. You cant avoid this stuff when we are training like physcos all the time! Make sure you are nice to your girlfriend before the surgery lol

If anyone wanna reply < how is it way after? Your shit look normal or what? Scars don’t bother me, but having a bulging fucked up crotch doesn’t sound too fun

And - do you get full movement back in your groin - u feel that shit in there?!

First surgery - guess, it had to b a good one

Had one. Put up with it for about a decade then looking at the lump just bothered me so I got it repaired laparascopically using mesh. Couple holes punched. Recovery sucked imho. Tried to sleep in bed but couldn't use abs to sit up or turn over. Ended up sleeping in the Lay-Z-Boy which helped big time by being able to sit up using the chair handle. I highly recommend this.

I skipped legs for about a month and then got right back into it slowly. No problems since. I asked the doc if he'd just insert a screen on the other side while he was there but he said no. Prick.

Had it done almost twenty years ago. While the incision/scar isn't insignificant, I never once felt insecure over it. Doctor will take good care of you Samson, best wishes!

If it ain’t broke - don’t fix it < my main concern is getting cut into unnecessarily. . . It don’t do shit. . . No one still has an official clue on what actually causes my ibs

I had one. My GP told me to wait and see what happens with it, maybe it would heal....

Went to a specialist 4 months later and he booked me in for surgery the next week. The only way is to get it operated on.

Question: was it constantly out? Or it pop back in, and how big?

Funny enough it was not out. You could not see it. I coughed and the specialist felt it. Didn’t even order any other tests.

How big? I really don’t know

I had one repaired back in 1986. No mesh just restitched how ever the doctor did it. He said it would never tear again. And 33 years later he's right. No issues at all. The recovery was rather painful for the first couple of days. No matter what position I was in it ached. Try not to cough or sneeze. If you have allergies take your anti-histamine so hopefully you can keep the sneezing to a minimum. The spot was sore for a couple of weeks and then the pain diminished quickly. I started back doing ab work after about a month but only doing what didin't hurt. For maybe the first 5 or 6 years I could make the incision area sore by overworking it or just a straining position. But after a day or 2 the soreness was gone. So to sum it all up my hernia repair was a true success. Just give it time to heal, don't overwork it but work the area enough to strengthen the muscles and break up the scar tissue. Take your time and you should be set.

I had one about 4 years ago. One small incision just below the chest and 2 on each side of the upper stomach. Really can’t see them anymore.
Middle one was for the camera and the two on the side were for the mechanical arms. I’m not sure where the mesh was inserted. I was out in a couple of hours.
I was trimming a tree later that afternoon. Dr would have killed me if he knew. I used a pole saw but was very careful.
I waited until I finished the competition for the year before I had it done.
