A cycle on a calorie deficit.

Hi, If I took 500mg of Test E a week for 16 weeks while doing mostly cardio on a calorie deficit (weights twice a week at most) would I maintain the muscle I have built naturally?

    Thanks

It can help but would depend on the deficit. This sounds like a poor plan why take steroids and lift weights only twice per week? What are your stats, is this first cycle?

It depends of the amount of deficit, the proteins amount intake, your genetic, the scheduled training and so other factors you have to plan in a way which your body is at the best responsive to. All AAS are able to block cortisol receptors of a different degree ( Winstrol is the most effective in this sense ). Do not think AAS as a magic portion, because is perfectly possible to loose muscles while on deficit even though on cycle, if other variables are not well handled.

In every case, with Test E 500mg/W you should have a shield against muscle wasting, but don't think is so much and it's not the best choice to perform a cutting. You have to know your body and how the things works inside it and its physiology.

I have enough muscle and I’ve reached what I believe to be my strength peak (I’m a power lifter not a bodybuilder).
Like many powerlifters I have a gut and a fat face. I want to stay as strong and as muscular but lose the fat. The idea of drifting away from my personal bests is an issue. I would hate that. I have to at least equal them every week (unless I’m ill).
I have this feeling that if I have a calorie deficit my body will eat away at my muscle too.
I’ve never done a cycle. I am on TRT (90mg per week)

Theres a lot better compounds and ways of dong this to accomplish your goal then to simply blast 500mg of test for 16 weeks

Chronic cardio is not conducive to body transformation in a caloric deficit with weights twice a week. You'd be better off substitute some of the cardio for weightlifting, can be high volume low rest opposite of a traditional power lifting routine.

If you have a high body fat you may benefit more from running a different compound in addition to your HRT rather than adding more Test.

AAS helps stack the weight loss in your favour - but if the diet isn't optimized or training, you won't be set up for success.

Seems like experienced hands are here to help but here I go

Watching and reading on this very subject this is the best way I can wrap it up in my own words, I can't stress enough to not take what I say to heart. the last thing I want is for anyone to follow what I say when I am no doubt a student and not a teacher.

In terms of cutting and fat loss. Some might exclusively choose to ONLY cut when they are on a cycle. The reason is for the obvious, when your cutting muscle loss is inevitable and strength will diminish. By choosing to cut on a cycle your protein synthesis will still be haywire and at astronomical rates that are normally just physically impossible to achieve naturally. Why would you want to watch your hard work disappear because you choose to cut while you were off or on a cruise? By cutting while on a cycle you have the ability to either dramatically stop the muscle wasting, maintain your muscle mass or in some cases actually build some fibers!

I will say myself with my inexperienced hand that test E 500mg EW doesn't seem like the best route to go. at the end of the day it'll work... but there are far better ways to go. EQ, which is going to be my compound of choice in the future might be good for cutting, anavar , tbol, winny, etc etc. HGH with some caffiene suppliments as well. Cardarine too.

with my own personal experience I can tell you that HGH works. within 3 weeks and stubborn body fat seemed to be melting, Cardarine I never knew was helping until I stopped use. I end my workouts with a high rep arm blast and that's when I felt the cardarine hit the most. Rep after rep after rep after rep after rep. When I stopped use I had to humble myself down and realize that it was helping. On paper Cardarine does increase Lypo, lyptic, lipto, cut, fat, whatver it is called but for valid reasons SARM's might not be the holy grail at least in comparsion to the real deal compounds. I'll stop here because in all honesty there are far better members here who can answer your question much better.

But yes, when you think about it it actually makes sense to save your cutting phase when your on a cycle for the protein sythisis and anabolic properties. Anyway anyone can correct me where ever I was wrong.

    I’d suggest: adding cardio + a deficit + sauce

    But, still lift

Just curious, why only 2 days a week lifting? As a powerlifter, I'd think you'd be lifting more often than that?

Chronic cardio is not conducive to body transformation

    Yes you need both .

No maple leaf or raptors poster in the background?

    No Tim Hortons cup?

I normally do three. I’m old now. The bigger gap has really helped me actually. Two weeks off each exercise and I came back and got PB’S!
