    What should I consider trying with TRT...

    I'm 34 years old, retired athlete (still train everyday), 165lbs, 5'10" and started receiving TRT a few months ago. I was told I should get my TRT "dialed in" before looking into steroids , so I'm curious what people mean when they say that? I was doing some reading and saw that mentioned a lot, but wasn't clear on what it meant.

    I'm also curious what steroids I should be looking into? I'm completely ignorant of this and most of what I know is from reading posts on here the past few days. It seems like anavar is a good way to start, but if that isn't the best way to go or it's better with something else I'd like to know.

    I'm looking to increase strength and durability (faster recovery), but I train in an explosive sport and I'm not wanting to wreck my cardio or endurance. I'm also not interested in putting on size, but it won't bother me if its a natural side effect. I just want to make it clear that my goal is not to get huge. I just want to get as strong, agile, and durable as I can. This isn't something I'd ever considered in the past but after reading into it a bit more I realized I had a lot of misconceptions.

    dialing in your trt is a dose that suits you some people need 200mg some need only 100mg some people convert into alot of estrogen some do not. and being that your on trt anyway why not just up your test dose to 400mg and see how you get on with that make sure to have an aromatase inhibitor on hand like arimadex. are you self administering the trt?

    TBH I stopped reading after the first paragraph. ADD kicking in, my bad.
    Get your TrT dialed in:
    When you first get on TrT the doc should meeting with you every few months to check your blood levels and adjust your dose accordingly. If you start cycling you will throw off the tests one way or another, he doc will know you have been cycling or think it's because of what he has prescribed. Both of these things result in bad outcomes obviously. Once you get to a point where you're seeing the doc semi annually nor annually you can start squeezing in cycles and give your body time to get back to baseline before your next visit.
    Did I listen to that advice? No. And I wish I did

    The increased test levels are going to go along way in helping with recovery and strength. If that’s all you’re looking for why not just stick to the trt protocol until you feel you’ve got a plateau and then add other compounds if you wish.

    Good answers above. Wait a year, get dialed in like the guys said. You should be able to make substantial gains by simply having optimized hormone levels in conjunction with solid nutrition and hard training. If gains aren't made then there's only one person to blame!

    If trt was started a few months ago you should have noticed improvements in training recovery by now, provided you legitimately needed trt. I know when I initially began trt my training volume was able to increase and recovery was still better than previously.

    Dialed in means determining the exact dosage you require - usually that gives a result towards the top end of the range. It's also the dose that allows for no AI to be used. For example I started at 100mg per week and slowly went up to 200mg per week. My sweet spot for Test alone was about 140mg and 90mg with other compounds.

    Using an AI with say 200mg of Test is actually much much worse than say 140mg with no AI.

    It's also about fine tuning other HRT items like DHEA, Calciferol, HCG , etc. HRT is not just jab some Test into your system and call it a day.

    As previously mentioned, if you have routine bloodwork then adding in other compounds will interfere with that bloodwork. Skewing the bloodwork is going to give the doctor a false sense of your treatment and make incorrect adjustments. They may also determine that there is malicious intent and pull your treatment all together.

    Basically, steroids are no walk in the park. You can make yourself ill and feel horrible and without bloodwork every few weeks, you won’t know what is going on or why you feel how you feel. Then you speculate and start adding and taking away things and now you may screw yourself over even further. Steroids may not even work for you, like for me. I did two cycles, got minimal gains on the first cycle, and zero gains on the second. Basically huge waste of time and money. And I did the research and know how to diet and train. You need a decent amount of steroids to see anything if you’ve trained a long time. Even 500 mg, IMO, is nothing.

    okay perfect. This is actually the kind of advicde I was looking for. I'm not set on trying steroids , just wanted to see if I'm leaving anything on the table and cheating myself by not asking. I'll stick with TRT, and get my dosage figured out and put a follow up post once I've been on a year and have my numbers dialed in.

    I have noticed results so far since starting in november. I haven't been on top of follow up bloodwork properly but about to change that.
