How to develop a first time begginer cycle

    Hi to everyone.
Im a new to all this but nor new to training.

The basics. Im 54 year old male, 5'10", 250 LBS, 20" Bi's, 56" chest, 38" waist, current body fat around 30%. Train 6 days a week 1 1/2 hour to 2 hours weight training min 30 min cardio daily. Diet is high protein low carb. Bench 1 rep max 350 probably can do more but never try bad joints from 20 years in the ARMY. Standard workout is 275 x 5 drop set to 225 6 x10rep.
The only supplements I am using is Universal animal packs and syhtha 6 protein shakes. I ordered some universal cuts and stacks that should be in this week.

Goals are to drop down to around 225 in the 12 to 15% Body fat range.

Started a TRT under doctors guidance 45 days ago using topical nut cream and thyroid booster. At this point I have seen little results in fat lose but it has increased my libido.

Synergy Lab report is as follows for those that under stand it.

    Testosterone total 1.99
    Sex hormone binding globulin 21.3
    Albumin 4.7
    Testosterone free 0.0454
testosterone Bio available 1.159 this is the only value show to be out of normal range
    PSA Hyb Toatal .34
    T3 free 3.59
    T4 Free 0.87
    TSH 3.63
    DHEA sulfate 97

Going to be honest I dont really understand any of this but I just followed my doctors guidance.

I have never cycled before nor have I ever used any enhancers. Basically I dont know shit when it comes to this.

Any guidance you guys could give me as to what the best cycle would be for me to attain my goals safely and with minimal side effects would be great.

Not looking to become a monster just lean and hard and after being stuck for the past 6 months I'm willing to try anything.

I hope some of you smart guys can help me out and thanks for any input in advance.

    Have a great day.
    Chad

Welcome, Chad. If you would include the reference ranges for your values, you will get better input.

the simplest and least side effect option , simply add 40mg per day of Anavar to your TRT protocol .

I'm sure plenty of guys will recommend a 'first cycle' be a Test only cycle. but I totally disagree with that. get your TRT dialed in and simply add safe effective anabolics to the mix rather then blasting high dosages of test and getting all the negatives that come with that and totally skewing your blood work for your TRT.

if you don't want to run an oral . then the next option is to run like 400mg of Primobolan along side your TRT. very safe effective AAS with little to no sides

    Thanks for the input guys
    Hi Almostgone
    The Reference ranges were
Test Total 1.50 - 6.84 mine was 1.99 doc said she could get it up to 6.84 with the cream
Sex hormone binding globulin no established reference range for men over 50
    Albumin 3.5 - 5.7 mine 4.7
    testosterone free .0358 - .1682 mine .0454
testosterone Bioavailabe 1.310 - 6.820 mine was low at 1.159
    PSA Hyb Total 0.0 - 4.0 mine 0.34
    t3, free 2.3 -4.2 mine 3.59
    T4, free 0.61 - 1.12 mine 0.87
    TSH 0.45 -5.33 mine 3.63
    DHEA sulfate 35 -179 mine 97
She prescribed Testosterone Atrevis 200 MG/MK Hydrogel 1/ml pump 1 pump to scrotum twice daily and Thyroid USP which is a dessicated thyroid extract that is made up of two thyroid hormones: liothyronine (T3) and levothyroxine (T4) one capsule daily 30 minuets prior to anything to eat or drink.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the input GearHead. Truthfully I am not exactly sure how to dial in my TRT. I have a follow up appointment with the Dr in 45 days but at this point I am debating staying on it. The result beyond increased libido have been counter productive. I am half way through the 90 day period and staying on it. The cost of the Dr is $300 buck for the appointment plus and additional $450 for the medication and it is not covered by insurance. With minimal results i am really considering if its worth it.
What would your recommendation be as far as a safe effective anabolic ? I have to admit that i am clueless in this area. I will say that I am a non drinker and have good liver function and as of my last physical in November with the VA had only a slight elevated cholesterol in the 270 range. Blood pressure is good and overall i am in pretty good health.

Do you guys think it would be best to run out the final 45 days of TRT and then make the jump or continue on with the TRT as is. My Dr is not a proponent of injectibles and from our past conversations is going to want to keep me on the nut cream. I specifically asked about the injectibles originally but she was pretty adamant about the cream. its starting to feel like i am flushing my money down the crapper. LOL

I really appreciate the input guys and value your opinions. Y'all have much appreciated experience.
    thanks again.
    Chad.

your on and paying for TRT ,, yet your doc seems content at keeping you in a sub par sub optimal range. she is essentially shutting you down and giving you self induced hypogonadism. I would find a better doc, or go to a 'optimized' TRT clinic that will have no problem prescribing you injectible test. heck you won't even have to go in for an appointment, it can all be done online.

I would do that first and foremost. get your test levels at an optimal range. and theres always the option of self medicating, which is what most of us do (as a bottle of test is only about 35$ and will last you 10 weeks)

I definitely looking at the self medicating option and i wasn't even aware that TRT clinics were option online. Im learning more and more by the minute. Seems like i came to the right place. LOL I agree that she doesn't seem to motivated to get me where i want to be but seems more motivated to push here pharmacies meds.
Hopefully you guys can get me smart enough to know what to do and point me in the right direction to optimize my test levels. I'm not opposed to doing a cycle to be honest I just want to make sure im doing it the right way and not going to mess myself up. I like the fact that my junk still works and would like to keep it that way. LOl

I would definitely hold back on cycling until you have your HRT dialed in...
    Like 1-2yrs dialed in.

You state that the testosterone hasn't helped you lose fat.
    It won't.
    Your thyroid meds will.
Your test if anything will make you put on weight.

Now what I would recommend is getting prescribed TRT thru the VA or thru your general practioner. Or... go see an ednocronlogist.

You obviously are getting treated at a TRT mill.
They don't always prescribe the most economical treatments.
They are in it for the money.

    thanks for the input Dog
I have tried the VA route and it was bust. took an act of god just to get them to check my t levels. My levels by their test was around 270 so close enough to the normal range that they would do anything regardless that I was symptomatic.
Undoubtedly where i went was a more a weight loss mill recommended by a friend. Though the doctor was very well credentialed it became apparent that she was most inerested in selling the T cream than helping me reach my ultimate goals. She did put me a Thyroid pill as well but for the most part I have seen little results beyond water retention. It is obvious looking at pictures and my feet that i am hold a lot of water.

Im not exactly sure how to get my TRT dialed in under these conditions but hopefully coming here will help me work that out.

I can't give you pansy advice unless that's what you want to be. If so, you're on the right path.

But if not, you're putting a band-aid on a broken leg which won't help at all. You can try that, but there's no shortcut, and no substitute for education and hard work, both of which are needed to get where you want to be.

    ------------

More so than any compounds or chemicals these are my indicators:

"...38" waist, current body fat around 30%...Diet is high protein low carb...min 30 min cardio daily."

    1) A 38" waistline at 30% bf is not yet cycle worthy. You need to learn some more about nutrition.

    2) Those are not the primary components of clean eating, they are just two buzz terms. Post your ACTUAL diet (the literal meals you eat with all the sauces, drinks, late night snacks, alcohol consumption...your total calories consumed, put it all in there) on the Diet Forum and let the fellas there give it give it a once over.

    3) 30 mins a day, 5 days a week is recommended for senior citizens for basic health, not someone trying to burn through 15% body fat. Slowly, increase your cardio by 5 minute increments, and make sure it's intense (not mild or moderate) preferably HIIT - as hard and fast as you can go without passing out, then slow and easy until you catch your breath; repeat until the session ends. You won't believe how quickly your body adapts and improves.

Chopping that bf in half will do wonders for your psyche and physique, as well as put you in a good range for effective aas use, which should be a SOLID TEST CYCLE, not just the addition of Var to TRT.

Like the fellas said, firstly get your HRT (thyroid) and TRT established. Secondly, add the necessary Test to provide approx. 500 mg per week. Then you'll be ready to both add and benefit from Var; for optimal results start with 20 mg twice a day, early and late.

Remember, diet and cardio are the keys! If they aren't right you'll inevitably become one of those busters who starts threads with, "Guys, I think my gear is bunk...", or "Fellas maybe I'm a non-responder.", because aas doesn't do all the work for you, it polishes your already clean and conditioned interior and exterior.

Use your military motivation to learn ALL YOU CAN, and ask ANY QUESTIONS, we're here for you.

    Best to you.

This is the beginning steps of getting my TRT in a position for me to move forward.

    My diet is fairly strict.
0500 Thyroid pill with sip of water
0530 Animal Pack, Animal Cuts, natural herbal supplements for my joints, fish oil...
0530 : Breakfast 2egg omelet, ham and cheese, coffee with NutraSweet.
    0615 Animal M stack
    25 min drive to gym
Traditional Push Pull style workout Mon thru Sat heavy the first half of the week High reps the second half of the week. Heavy is relative so for me heavy chest would be 315 5x5 drop weight 275 6x8, dumbbell fly 110 pyramid up to 130.... Light day would be like Bench 225 6 x 12 drop 205 10 x 20...
Workouts last about 2 hours with at least 30 min of cardio.
1000 Syntha 6 shake second animal pak
1200 salad mostly lettuces and veggies either with backed chicken or tuna two table spoons of ranch dressing.
    1300 second Animal cuts pack
rest of the day just water or black coffee.
    No alcohol consumption, no snacks.
I haven't had a piece of bread or anything white in a couple of years and i haven't had a soda of any kind in over 5 years.
I count my carbs and try to keep them below 30g per day.

I doubt very seriously that i will be a non responder. I actually pack on muscle pretty easy but I also hold fat in my trunk and i am genetically predisposition to this.

I am not looking to blast but truly just get my TRT back under control and my weight back to normal and i put in the work so i am not looking for a magic cure all.
