Not quite getting it?
Alright, i was doing some reading and thinking and i have a question that i can't figure out. I hear people say "take test prop, there is less water retention." Between enan and prop, the have ester differences but, thats about it. Your body sees testosterone , and it doesn't care how it got there, so if you take away the prop ester and the enan ester you have the EXACT same steroid , correct? So if this is true, the in essence, enan and prop are the same (i'm not talking about the release times) , so them being the same how can prop possibly cause less water retention. Is there something i am missing here?

It's the ester that causes the retention. The shorter the half-life the less water you will retain.

why the ester, isn't essentially just a fatty acid?

Did you read this post yet on esters?

yes many times. the problem i have is with this:
Esterification of an injectable anabolic /androgenic steroid basically accomplishes one thing, it slows the release of the parent steroid from the site of injection.
So if its only purpose is to slow the release of the parent steroid (being testosterone ), and not the activity, then i still don't see it.
Prop still yields the same free steroid as enanthate . I was under the impression that to make a less estrogenic steroid, than the molecule itself must be changed.

One of them things there is no for sure answer...
Some people feel the most even blood level can be achieved with a prop ester. I think this is mostly the reason behind the water retention question vs esters.
Enanthate , Cyp are too long to correctly balance since a depot will always release a little different than the next and you eventually can have a good 7-10 depots all going at once...Suspensions and orals are too short to be able to get a smooth stream.
Thats the only logical explanantion that comes to my mind, that it all comes down to the steadiest blood levels which leads to less aromatation fluxuations.
