Would you call Australians Euros? I would say I likely legally own more rifles, shotguns and pistols than any American in this conversation and so does my housemate (who is in on this post), so no issues with us owning guns.
We are not really allowed to use them for self defence though, but then as 99.9% of Aussies would say, defence against what??? For the majority of us we would never have to think about defending ourselves or know anyone who has, for most of us, crime just isn't a thing we have to think about.
For the vast majority in Australia the idea of needing to defend yourself is as alien as it would be for an American to want to fit roo bars to your car to protect your car when hitting kangaroos. (which is normal in my area). So while we might be weak for not defending ourselves against criminals, we would argue you are weak for not protecting your cars against kangaroos. Different countries have different needs. (that said, if I lived in USA, I likely would buy a handgun for self defence so I have no issues with Americans having them for self defence in their country)
I think when we say “weak” in connection with European brothers, we mean weak for standing by and letting them confiscate your sporting rifles. Weak for having tiny sissy cars in most places instead of big trucks. Weak for all caving into the Nazis so easily and having us come there to pick up the slack.
That’s only what I perceive others’ opinions to be based on. I’ve never been to Europe, so I don’t really have an opinion on them, except I love all their YouTube channels where they use scrap to make useful tools. Beautiful knives from auto springs and the like. All those former communist countries seem to be the best at that kind of thing. Taking rusty shit and engineering and fabricating fantastic beautiful things.
They seem to have more of an appreciation for the long term usefulness of things, rather seeing everything as disposable garbage.
