Thyroid
Are blood tests the only way to know if your thyroid is functioning properly?
I am getting 1/2 of my thyroid removed today and am curious if there is anyway that I can know if it is functioning normal or not. The surgeon said that the I tension is to leave 1/2 of my thyroid with the intent to not have to use meds- but no guarantee.
Will this change any cycles and or results?

Uggggh,
Don’t know - that’s a fairly intricate question
I’d try to ask your MD, just without mentioning roids at all

fatigue , lethargy, being tired all the time is the number one sign that your thyroid is low.. also hypoglycemia

Mine came in a tad low last time - My surgeon guy said to look into it
I haven’t done shit yet - but, I have never had my thyroid numbers pulled before

Thyroid hormones function on feedback loops. Perhaps the 1/2 will just work harder.

I think bw is the only definitive way to determine function for purposes that will satisfy you and the doctor. After you know for sure, monitor symptoms to determine if you need to get rechecked.
