Ended up in the hospital last night.

Was laying in bed watching some porn and my heart started beating rapidly. Ended up going in an ambulance and my HR was 170 bpm which slowed to 130 after trying to calm down. At the hospital had blood work, a chest x-ray, and ekg with the only findings being low magnesium. Now for the past few days I was feeling a bit off, had some minor muscle cramps, and some Ed issues. Gotta have a follow up but hopefully the magnesium was the issue.

Was your potassium ok? Mg+ works very closely w/ K+....normally if Mg+ is low, so will your K+.

    Sorry to hear that, Dog.

Along the lines of what -rph was saying, make sure to rake your multi-mineral +D supplement with fat, they are fat soluble.
    -
...It's actuallly good news to leave the hospital and not have a long term thing you gotta deal with.

Potassium was fine. Was just cruising on test and primo, (recently upped the test to 500mg) but the ED issue started just before that. Currently 6' 190 lbs guessing around 15% bf. With everything going on I've been a bit stressed and my diet wasn't the most nutrient dense.

You got lucky. I went in a month before a show for prostrate and everything was wrong. Atrial fib, cholesterol, etc.
I starting refusing testing because a pre show cycle is taxing and I knew they would find a shitload of problems.
Then starts all of the follow ups on what they found wrong. LOL
What was BP? 170 is probably close to 90% of max heart rate.
Were you taking T3, or any stimulants?

BP was 156/91 doctor wasn't concerned concidering I was literally panicking because I thought I was going to die. I check my BP periodically and the highest I have seen recently was 135/80 other than that it's been good. No T3 and I usually have around 500mg caffeine a day. The doctor thinks some of it was from anxiety when I first noticed something was up my HR was 130 bpm then was 170 in the ambulance, then came back down to the 130s after I relaxed a bit.

I would schedule an appointment with a cardiologist in your area to rule out anything serious such as AFib.

I had the same exact thing happen. It was panic attacks, but through going to the dr. I found out I had a slight mitral valve prolapse. The doctor wasn’t concerned. Spent a year thinking I’m gonna die. Panic attacks every day. Stopped lifting. Was horrible. Took 4 years to get back to myself from what was probably in my head. I felt my heart skipping beats all the time. When I stopped thinking about it and worrying, it went away.

Smart move with the ambulance, seriously. A lot of dudes might’ve blown that type of stuff off. Glad the EKG was negative!

I'm thinking it was more of a panic attack and the low magnesium wasn't helping. I'm prone to making things worse because I worry about them. Everything has been fine so far BB was 123/75 and HR 57 when I woke up this morning. Going to try and get a light workout in and see how things go.

I was a bit afraid to go with all this virus shit going on especially since I'm in one of the harder hit areas. It ended up not being bad at all the EMS guy even said this is the best time because the hospitals are actually dead which to my surprise they were.

I’ve read articles quoting ER physicians saying they aren’t seeing as many cardiac patients because of that fear factor. They worry that there are more than a few needless deaths.

Glad it all worked out well for you.

I would seriously consider taking a Beta blocker like Atenolol .. it will help block adrenaline and epinephrine from over stimulation of your heart. it will also help keep your heart rhythm steady and lower blood pressure.

I used to get bad panic attacks and heart rate would jump up to 140 bpm just laying in bed.. also my heart would skip beats and flutter.
years back after having surgery they would not release me from the hospital cause my resting heart rate would not go any lower then 110.. they did EKG and found a heart murmur.

anyhow, I started taking 25mg a Atenolol (a few years back).. and that did the trick. no side effects either. my blood pressure is now 120/70 and my resting heart rate is 68 and I no longer get any skipped beats or heart murmurs. and it helps with anxiety as well.

    worth looking into

Would that be an issue since my heart rate is usually low when not running a bunch of gear this morning laying in bed it was 57 which is pretty normal for me BP was also 123/75.

its something you can take on a 'as needed' basis.. if you find your heart is pacing and anxiety is kicking in, you can just pop 25mg and it will help you calm down.
if you normally have a really low heart rate, then you likely wouldn't need to take it daily..

I take it daily,, but I had chronic high elevated heart rate, on or off gear.

another thing it alters is your cardio heart rate .. before I started taking it I would do the treadmill at 4 incline and 4 speed and that would get my heart rate up to around 125 bpm .. but now that same speed and pace only gets my heart rate to 100 bpm.
I don't know if thats good or bad,, but cardio is pretty easy breezy for me. maybe its bad for overall fat loss, but I rarely get out of breath or struggle with cardio and high heart rate

Good point, I’m on atenolol too. It used to feel like adrenaline surges that would make my heart jump or flutter. I don’t get them since the atenolol.

EKG is just the basics. My EKG'S were fine from my family doctor and I ended up finding out I had a heart condition once I seen a cardiologist.

If you ever start hyperventilating again or get that aura, grab a plastic or paper bag and and breathe into/out of it. The idea is to increase the CO2 in the blood by breathing it back in. This relaxes you in return.

Breathing was fine forgot until now but I did feel like my throat was closing up, just looked it up and that's a big sign of a panic attack which is no surprise considering I thought I was dieing.

intersting . I'll have to see if that works..

I usually do the opposite, I have oxygen on hand next to my bed and use that.. even have an oxygen machine in my room that I use when anxiety gets too bad where I can't sleep

No my pre workout has 400 mg which I only use 1/2, 3/4 (if I really need it) scoops plus a cup or 2 of coffee throughout the day.

how old are you 99jt ? if I were to guess I'd say you are around 30..

my anxiety issues started around my late 20s. they ramped up more and more, the more successful I became and the more business I ran and employees I had. more stress equaled more anxiety, even sub conscience anxiety, and then that carried over into my health and my physical well being.

if your under a lot of stress, worried, etc.. it can carry over to physical manifestations and this may be whats going on.

medical advice is good .. but also you may need to take some time and unwind, calm your soul, meditate, sit in the woods and relax, idk.

but stress and worry can get to you and unleash negative physical manifestations

I'm 30. I try to keep my stress pretty low and now that the weather is finally nice I can just relax outside. I've allways had some anxiety especially when running gear whenever I start something new my heart rate would jump up a little but that's gotten better. This was the first time I've ever had to go to the hospital especially with this virus going on I was just freaking out, once I got their and realized it wasn't that bad my HR came down a bit, then the gave me an IV of magnesium it dropped below 100 bpm, got the rest of my blood work back and everything was good. (Not sure exactly what they ran). The fact that my schedule has changed so much, I've been missing meals, and eating crap to make up for some of the calories probably didn't help.

Yeah I was told to do this by a dr when I had panic attacks/hyperventilated. If you think about it, hyper means to increase, and ventilate refers to air flow. She said basically that when we panic we tend to breathe quicker and more shallow, taking too much oxygen. The opposite would be slow deep breathes where you exhale slowly. It kind of does the same thing as breathing into a bag, but doesn’t work as well. For me the bag works great.

Had a multiple similar instances 2 years ago while in Cebu mid-sex usually. I was on Lisinopril and Betaloc and 220 test wk with 8 units HGH day. When I arrived to the hospital my pressure was 150/95 and pulse 150+ (2 hour drive to the hospital). After 4-5 episodes my regular doctor added a CCB (Calcium Channel Blocker) which brought my resting blood pressure to 105/75 on average and 130/85 during intense workouts. In the end the actual pulse issue was identified as intermittent opiate use side effect (super common). For me I used 100 mg Tramadol daily and 20 mg Hydrocodone a day. Low doses for most users but there was some interaction between the HGH and the opiates. If I dropped one or the other it never happened again. Immediately happened when used both.

Hope you get it figured out.

i was listening to dave palumbo a week or so ago and what about these in conjunction with the EKG? based on previous comments seems like EKG alone aint gonna tell you.
    Ecto cardio gram
    cardiac ct

that might be what ASHOP mentioned.

You may be right with all this shit going on on the world it's all the little things have been bothering me. Went to Lowe's yesterday and go to get some concrete which was outside and am told I need to push my F***ing cart to the other side of the store and go in the designated entrance due to covid 19, then walk by some random guy in the middle of an isle who stops and says "excuse me" for coming within six feet of him at that point my heart started racing as I held back from going off on him. All this little BS and people being pussies thinking you have to wear a mask the minute you step out of your house just pissed me off. Decided to just take a couple days off from work relax by the pool, and get some stuff done at home.

Good news i found the cause it was a panic attack caused from smoking some weed. never had an issue except with this stuff smoked a little bit last night and a little while later i felt my heart rate jump up and my throat felt like it was closing. this time it was nowhere near as bad, and i calmed myself down within minutes after realizing what was the going on and felt so relived after it happened since i know what caused it now. like i said ive never had this happen before so i didn't even think of it as being the cause.

Smoked here and there in high school then joined the military so I couldn't anymore but started back up in January. Mainly to help me relax and sleep and it's done wonders for that until now. I've gotten some anxiety after smoking a lot but nothing like what happened last week i truly though I was going to die.

I used to get bad panic attacks and heart rate would jump up to 140 bpm just laying in bed.. also my heart would skip beats and flutter.
years back after having surgery they would not release me from the hospital cause my resting heart rate would not go any lower then 110.. they did EKG and found a heart murmur.

anyhow, I started taking 25mg a Atenolol (a few years back).. and that did the trick. no side effects either. my blood pressure is now 120/70 and my resting heart rate is 68 and I no longer get any skipped beats or heart murmurs. and it helps with anxiety as well.

    worth looking into
I would have crushed it up and fucking snorted it if my heart rate 170 beats per minute

if you normally have a really low heart rate, then you likely wouldn't need to take it daily..

Atenolol or Propranolol , have you tried both? which would you recommend

so what branch were you in and what was your MOS? you retire?

Have you ever been prescribed Cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril and Amrix)? They are muscle relaxers and they are amazing with beer. im a light weight tho. i dont F with most stuff like weed and opioids. small amounts of psilocybin are relaxing too. magic mushrooms are on their way to legalization. already legal in Oakland CA and Colorado.

    I don't know, gents...

I must be "old school" here, because I don't get taking all this medication (oops... isn't this the roids forum) for stress and lack of sleep.

I calm myself down the old-fashioned way; jerking-off.

You guys should give it a try. if haven't done it before...

Always works for me, if I can't sleep...

Pull out a load (and if I'm cycling hard "a load" equates to one or two BB's) and VOILA...!!! Done deal.
