Excel syringes contain a nipple, which helps push out more oil...every little bit helps!!!

You just have to be really sure the tapers of the needle and the syringe are pushed together so there is an interference fit to secure the syringe to the needle.
I was using up some tuberculin syringes and lost a few iu of Serostim because I didn't make sure the needle was properly seated.

I thought I wasn't getting the full amount in the past with the slip syringes, because some don't have that nipple and you can see about .05 mL still in the syringe. But really, you do get the full amount, but when you draw, you draw an additional .05 mL of whatever you are injecting, by default. That's what fills the tip. So it's a matter of just wasting liquid, but it doesn't mean you don't inject your intended amount.

Yeah, you do draw up to the mark on the syringe so you're drawing the metered amount plus whatever is in the needle. It's always bothered me that I'm wasting that extra little bit. It doesn't seem like much, but over time and injections it adds up. But that's part of why I tell people to buy more than they're going to actually use.
