    Deca and Finasteride

From what I’ve read, Deca and Finasteride could be a bad combo for some when it comes to hairline. At my age, Over the last few years, I’ve maintained a Finasteride prescription to prevent hair loss. I’ve had some thinning and MPB runs in the genes. I love Deca, period. Stacking with test and Var has always given me great results. I’m preparing to go back on Cycle and this is the first one I’ll run since I’ve started Finasteride. My question: how long would I need to discontinue the Finasteride prior to starting Deca to keep them separated? Also, how long will I need to wait after my last Deca pin before I can get back in the Finasteride? I usually keep the test at a pretty moderate level so I’m not terribly concerned about things going South up top under this scenario. I appreciate any help or advice from the group.

Might consider scaling back your finasteride dosage while enjoying durabolin on moderate testosterone levels . Quitting finasteride could be a bad combo when it comes to preserving the hairline.

Yeah, that’s the rub. Not sure if quitting the Finasteride would be worse than combo-ing it with Deca . As of now, I’m more afraid of mixing the two; just because I don’t know how my body will react.

I'm doing around 200 mg/week of deca and taking finasteride EOD. I'm also taking primo at 160 mg/week and test at around the same. Haven't noticed any additional hair loss. I know the study you're referencing. I think there was a follow-up study that showed different results because of some other factor... can't remember now.

Why I take it EOD: I read a study that showed that the overall reduction in DHT was around 85% the same with EOD dosing as with ED. I was surprised to read that and I'm still not sure I believe the results because finasteride has a supposedly short half-life. I guess the remnants of finasteride in the blood are enough to suppress DHT to a great degree even with EOD dosing.

Does MPB run in your family? Otherwise do you know whether you are prone to hair loss?

Thanks guys, I appreciate the input. I think going EOD with the Fina may be a good compromise.

Kelkel, you have TRT prescribed that includes Deca ? My limited knowledge of TRT is that it’s just testosterone . I’m at the age where TRT is starting to make sense. I haven’t decided to marry the needle yet, but it makes more and more sense as the days pass.

Yes and no. My doc will write deca for me (many clinics do as well) and insurance paid for it for a while but then weasled out of it. I just get it on my own as it's just easier. Writes me var as well.

Your blood work and how you feel will indicate when you're ready! Stay on top of your blood work.

Good info, thanks. Have some repair surgery coming up this week, once I’m done with rehab I’m going to get blood work done and get things moving one way or the other.

    Thanks again
