I'm sick of the "anavar is for cutting, tbol for bulking" misconception

Androgenic anabolic steroids are all testosterone derivatives that act on the body's anabolic receptors.
To lose or gain fat, it's a question of calorie surplus or calorie deficit. If you eat fewer calories than you consume, you'll lose weight; if you eat more, you'll gain weight. End of story.
Steroids during a cutting cycle simply act on the anabolic receptors in the muscles so that the body receives the signal to build muscle; so when the body is in deficit of calories, it will be more inclined to take them from fat than from muscle.

No steroid has any fat-loss property.

However, some steroids retain water (Deca , Dbol ,...) and give a "bulk" look, while others do not (anavar , tbol, primo,...).

It is therefore preferable to speak of "dry steroids" and "wet steroids".

So a wet steroid should be taken for bulking, and a dry steroid should be taken for cutting. Because we don't want to be full of water when cutting. It's quite simple.

In the steroid world, people aren't scientists and repeat ideas they read on forums. One idea is that "turinabol is for bulking" and "anavar is for cutting".Guess what, both are "dry steroids" and anavar has a higher anabolic score. I did a bulking cycle with both compounds separately, pharma grade, and bulked much better with the anavar, while my turinabol dosage was higher.
By the way, anavar's anabolic score is extremely high (322-630), so bulking with anavar and such a high anabolic effect is guaranteed to build muscle. I'm posting this because I'm a bit annoyed to see that all the steroid forums are just people repeating legends they've read on other forums, without anything logical or scientific.

Also, AAS is not the only factor. If some dude think tbol was better to bulk is maybe also because when you are a newbie, you build way more mass than when you train for 20 years. Also, if you are in a time of your life where you can eat 6 meals, train super hard and often etc. it won't be the same as during a time where you have a job that takes all your time and energy etc.

the guys who post on this forum regularly are very knowledgeable on AAS, and therefore you are preaching to the choir so to speak. cutting vs bulking comes down to diet, some types of AAS are more effective when combined with a calorie surplus, some are effective in a calorie deficit. some are very effective at retaining muscle in a very strict calorie deficit, like tren .

i would disagree with that statement. elevated testosterone (hopefully with HCT 2x a week), will increase the metabolic rate (anabolic aspect) of the body. With steroids, you have anabolic and androgenic properties. The "dry" steroids are typically DHT derivatives, which have increased androgenic features compared to anabolic. but they both have different properties in the muscle itself. The 'wet' steroids are typically progestin based (19-nor) which increase the water retention of the muscles along with the vascular system in general (due to the vasodilatory aspect).

In general though, i agree with the basic aspect you are trying to get across, however I do believe there is a big difference between the 'wet' and 'dry' steroids.

I've read that the benefit of Anavar is that you don't have to take testosterone with it.

meh... its a DHT derivative, so in some aspect yes... but thats also mainly in people who actually have a need for it; not just trying to go above and beyond with it.

No, you don't have to, but you will likely be happier with the end result if you do.

There are some legit medical issues that can be addressed with oxandrolone. Severe wasting, massive trauma, burn victims, etc.

Anavar has no real purpose in an “offseason” so people say its a cutting drug because it would be used in a cutting context. Yes you could use it for a bulk but why bother? There would be better compounds more safe for the liver and more suited to a bulk.

Some people might pop an anavar pre workout for a pump but that is about it.
