Cycle while only working out twice a week

Hey guys it’s been a while. I work very long hours and can’t get in the gym 5 days a week anymore like I used to. I’ve been wanting to come out of “cycle retirement”. Current stats is 5’8 212lbs. 21 years of hitting the gym pretty hard. So my question is will a cycle be a waste if I could only get in there twice week? I was thinking of doing a “basic” cycle Ronnie Coleman would put it lol
    1-14 500mg/wk Test C
    1-10 500mg/wk 1-test C
    HGH 4iu/day *maybe
    4-14 Arimidex .25mg/E3D

Not many here will advise someone with that high bf to cycle.

But after 10 years not being on gear, you're like a newb again. Lol. So if you were to cycle, you could probably make some good gains with just test.

If I were to start I would definitely get on a strict diet first and drop down to 200lbs. I work outdoors so the little extra Bf Helps right now in the cold. But my concern is if my cycle will be a waste if I could only get in the gym twice a week

Wait until your work schedule calms down and you can then put every effort into you cycle. Basically cheating yourself if you run it now.

Eh. Not sure it would be a waste. But someone with more experience might chime in.

I think it would depend on how intense you're workouts are and of course diet and goals for your cycle.

Mike Mentzer said 3 days a week was optimal. I've heard others say that as well.

Damn. Yeah I kinda figured that. Peek season came early and I definitely feel the effects on my muscle density, strength is there but I’ve been feeling more flat then usual. I turn 38 in Jan so I’m thinking is the natural test decline

Very well could be. Get some BW done and evaluate it. Check the HRT Forum for what to get but I'm sure you have a solid knowledge base already.

Thanks. I get my bw done yearly but I’m assuming that’s a separate out of pocket test?

Shouldn't be if through your pcp/dr. Especially if you tell them you feel less energetic and think your test may be low. Most drs are pretty good about testing your levels.

I agree with everything stated above. That said, how well did you respond to your workouts previously? There are of dudes that respond well to working out a body part one time per week.

Split the body into two. Then add intensity (Such as HIT as mentioned) to save time. Definitely doable, but to most traditionalists, maybe not optimal.

This is what I had in mind, I wanted to get different views on it because back when I used to cycle I would go balls to the wall 5-6 days a week sometimes twice a day and that’s all I knew mentally but I’m really out of options when it comes to hitting the gym more then 2 days a week for a very long time. I’m up at 555am I don’t get home from work 10-1030pm mon - Friday

Been feeling pretty sluggish. Wanted to get the energy, stamina and strength that comes with cycling. So it was more for the benefits than anything else

That’s a tough schedule & overall recovery is going to be very tough. Really thinking it’s just not maximizing your possible cycle benefits even if you respond nicely with training each part just once per week. How bout just a TRT level dosage till things chill a bit? Good luck with that schedule, I sure don’t envy you.

Yeah it sucks man. I guess I will see what next month brings and revisit the cycle idea. I will do more research on TRT and my soon to be age 38

Could you clarify this part of your cycle "1-14 500mg/wk Test C
    1-10 500mg/wk 1-test C"

What is 1-Test C? So you would be taking a total of 1000mg of test weeks 1-10?

How long will you be on this schedule that allows only 2 workouts per week?

From the sounds of it, you don't need gear. You need sleep.

I'd say use a site like Discountedlabs.com and choose your own bloodwork without a script but I'm quite sure they don't allow it in NY.

    Agree.

Funny you say that. I started a cpap about 6-7 months ago and it's life changing. I wake up with energy and I've put on probably 10+ lbs with the only variable being sleep. No added AAS in the past 1.5 years due to other med issues. It is absolutely amazing. Feels like I'm on cycle but I'm not. I guess my body forgot what it was like to be rested.

Download the "Mintal Tracker" app and use it at bedtime. It breaks down your sleep pattern, apnea risk, breathing stops and much more and gives audio playback, which scared the crap outta me. Amazing app that even my sleep doc was impressed with.

Good advice already given. I would certainly focus on regulating your body first. Bloodwork is a great thing to do any time you can. I would use the time between now and March to resolve underlying issues. Best of luck.

    Have a powerful day!
