What's the best most sterile way to open Test Amps? I thought I saw a kit on one of the liquid websites but it's not on either one anymore... Any suggestions?

If you score the ampules well enough, you shouldn't have a problem. I can only remember actually cutting myself once, even just using my bare hands.
I've seen more guys cut theirselves trying to score the amp than poppin' the top off.
However amp openers are available all over online.

i used to score it with a little file,....(NOT A KNIFE)......this worked well....... i know many bro`s that score with a knife and cut during that part, not the actual opening part......... but as i stated b4, i now just slip the pen cap over, grab the other end with a little towel or such and NO SCORE, just snap, much easier and faster, IMO ...probably safer too......lol.... I`ll prob cut myself next time just for saying this.

Yeah - never thought about using a pen cap. I suppose I could try that. I'd rather use the amp opener though. Any suggestions where to get one? I thought either LR or RK's web site had one but I don't see it now. Any alternate suggestions where I can pick one up?

This is what i use, cant get amp openers here (but i still recommend them).
I use a file and a pencap + a semsk(sp)skinn tovel. Never cut myself but gotten a small piece of glas in my thumb hehe.

No lie...... The tip broke off uneven and I got a nice slice on my thumb I bled for a while too................ I will have to say if anything bad will happen it will to me

I use an amp opener, but I still get a tiny piece of glass in the amp...

Really? What do you do in that situation? I've heard of filtered needles, but I am unable to find them on GPZ. All I see are syringe filters. Is this what is needed?

I use a small file...score the neck...it almost wants to pop off by itself.

I wrap toilet paper around the base of the amp and snap the top off with toilet paper as well, works every time. None busted on me yet. Knock on wood.

ive just been using a pare of pliers... no napkin or anything, i just tilt it over a garbage can and it works great and i dont get any shards in the amp. because of the hourglass figure, you can tilt it pretty far with the juice staying at the bottom. works for me, i couldnt score it with any knife or razorblade...

Take a packaged alcohol wipe, tear off a corner and stick the top of the amp inside. Hold firmly and snap off the neck outward and away from you.
That’s how we do it in nursing.

I used to score the neck with a nailfile and break it off with a paper towel... back when I used amps anyways.
