ALA or R-ALA fro liver pains?

WHich is better to help w/ liver problems while on an orals ALA or R-ALA? I Keep hearing that ALA is garbage, while R-ALA is a great suplement. Yet I still see people using ALA for their liver protectant. Is this cause ALA is surperior in protecting the liver compared to R-ALA but also inferior to R-ALA because it doesnt shuttle the nutrients as well? Im doing my research men but this is a tough one to find out for me.

Thats what I figured. HOw do you take your R-ALA? All throughout the day or just PW? At what dosages?

I go with 600 mg a day of r-ALA, split into three doses. I don't take it solely for liver protection, but I'm trying the idea of using the carbs I eat in a better way.
