Can I use 1 inch needle for my glutes

I currently have 23 gauge 1 inch needles, and have been having a hard time finding 1 1/2 needles. will the 1 inch needles work? I really don't want to inject into the quads or delts yet. Has anyone had positive experience with the 1 inch glute injects?

if you are really lean, then it will be fine, if not get some 1.5's

i used 1 inchers but injected closer to the side of the glute and it seemed to work fine.

I think you should check out your delts and quads. I was skeptical too but went in smooth as butter.

RULE OF THUMB:

1" 1/2 for Glutes.

IMO 1 inch is fine. I have always used 1inch 23gauge thats what im using now and I have never had a problem.

Be careful, I had a very bad experience with 1" needles and my glutes. It wasn't an issue of being to fat either as my by bf has never been over 8%. One time, I was in a hurry and I went into my upper glutes with a 1", I wasn't paying as much attention as I should have, and I went in kinda side-ways. Anyway the combination of the 1" needle and me going in side-ways caused my injection depth to be really shallow, I had a golf-ball sized lump on my ass for about a month, it hurt like hell for about 2-weeks anytime I sat on it. So, if your gonna go with the 1" just make sure you go in perpendicular to the surface of the skin, and you should be fine. Prior to this, I had done many injects with 1" needles in the glutes and had no problems, but never again, it's 1 1/2" for the glutes from now on.

if you are going to use 1 inchers (which is what i use) then make sure you inject in the gluteus medius. its the outer/upper portion of you butt

if youre lean you should have no prob using 1". Ive used them for glutes b4 or kust get some 1" and a halves

there is no problem with 1". i prefer 1.5" for glutes and 1" for delts and quads. but i have used 1" plenty of times in glutes and it is always fine. just follow what a few guys said and go in high and straight.

I've used 1" needles for glute shots (gluteus medius). I have never injected into the gluteus maximus because of the risk of hitting the sciactic nerve. If you're shooting in g. maximus, it MIGHT be safer to use a shorter needle. It would definitely be safer to shoot in the g. medius.

The portions shown in red and purple below comprise the gluteus medius:

I should have mentioned this also as others have pointed out. Make sure you inject in the upper right of your glute. Towards the hip. Here is an excellent link about injections. I always do a plus sign cross of my cheek. Then I do the upper right spot of the plus sign. Go straight in not to the side. I bury the needle to the hilt. If youre worried about the half inch push and dimple the skin so it goes deeper. I just dont see what the half inch makes a difference even if you have some serious bf as someone else mentioned above. Unless you are as fat as a house. I have always used one inch in all my years and never had a problem.

Yes but I prefer 1 1/2'' needles. Never go any shorter or you will possibly get an abcess and that's not a pretty sight not to mention a very sore ass. Pins shouldn't be hard to find on the internet. Try pins.com. Good luck!

Thanks to everyone who responded. Great information and after reading through everythin and and some archieved stuff. i decided to go for 1 1/2 pins and having lucked out tonight i will have some lovely 23g 1 1/2 beauts tomorrow night.
