I tore my meniscus in my knee and also tore my quad about six weeks ago. It's getting better but still sore and I don't have full range of motion in my leg. Would like to talk to anybody that has had either one of these injuries. Was thinking Deca might help with recovery.

First, are you doing any physical therapy? any surgery etc?? what happened?
ive torn my meniscus in both knees, and had surgery in both. it comes with being a semi-pro snowboarder when i was younger. right now they feel fine. as for the quad injury i cant help ya on that. but after i got the meniscus's fixed i was fine, just let the swelling go down and slowly start to add weight to it in your training, but start way lower then you used to before the injury. also stretch the legs alot to help. you can pm me if you have any other questions on the surgery's
put it this way after i got my right knee done, i went snowboarding 3 days later, and had a contest 4 days after, came in 3rd lol. there minor. just get the tear cut out and youll be fine

I play basketball, and a few years ago, i tore my ACL, meniscus and the vastus medialis (one of the quadricep muscles)...
I didn't have surgery, but did a helluva lot of physical therapy and work on my own, and i was running again in a little over 3 months - i'd say 6 months later i was back to speed...
I don't like the idea of using deca to help with recovery. First, you won't want to do deca alone. Second, you won't be able to focus enough on the lifting etc to really get all you can out of the AS. It's not a magic elixir that will heal all and make you magically bigger - it has risks, and if you're not 100% and able to add 110% effort to your cycle, then the risks won't outweigh the benefits, IMHO...
I've got a good friend who is a Physical Therapist with a Degree in Exercise Physiology, that treats professional athletes. If you wish I could talk to him for you, he is very willing to help people, very nice guy, he's on a few boards.
Ive had my lateral meniscus cut, and have torn my acl, and lcl. THe ligaments have healed, but hte cartilage isnt where it was, so squats hurt like a bitch.

I tore both my meniscus and my quad doing lat pull downs. I know what you are thinking. How the hell did you do that? I had the pads really tight on my legs and after each set I did my left leg hurt a lttle bit more. I didn't think much about it at the time until a couple of days later when I got massive bruising. The orthapedic Dr. said pressure caused the damage. I had a mri and it definitely showed the tears. Is that a freak accident or what?! I haven't done any PT but plan on it soon. The Dr. wants to do surgery on my knee but I want to wait until my quad heals. To be honest I think steroids have taken its toll on the collagen in my body. Thanks for your reply! Thanks for sharing your experience with me. That makes me feel better about the surgery. The Dr. said the quad would heal on its own. It hurt a lot more than the meniscus tear. I think I've caused damage to my collagen from years of steroid use because I've had a lot of injuries the last 2-3 years. Do you know of any tests for collagen?Quote:

I torn the tendons that connect the knee to the quads in both knees over 6 weeks ago and it sucks. I can't walk and not looking forward to PT. When I was in the hospital right before the surgery the doc asked me if I was using steroids because my injury was so freaky and was consistent with someone using steroids. I got this injury from justing running very fast and trying to stop fast.
I'd say steroids played a big part in both of our injuries. Don't you? I'm 40 now and have injuries a lot more often and more serious(broken fibula, torn lower bicep tendon, torn quad,etc.). I'm going to have to make a change because I'm tired of these injuries.

Good point dflood...listen to the docs. I did everything the physical therapist said, and i had a great recovery. It was great, 'cause I looked forward to pushing myself - and i was under his discretion, so i could go as hard as i could, and he could monitor what i'm doing...takes the burden of watching myself off of me...
I went into every session wanting to push myself...it was great, and i came out of it stronger than ever...

Ive torn my quad 3 times twice in the right the rectus femerus at the insertion and in my hip, and tore the outside quad in my left doing squats, the other i did playing rugby league only good thing it released tension on my right knee because it would pull the knee cap out of place. I think stanazol may help with this, took me time to get my speed back, make sure you get your quad fully stretched and massage the tear the first time i only had 85% range.Quote:
