Whats the difference between androgenic and anabolic effects?
example steroid X is highly anabolic , but only moderately androgenic .
I think I have the general idea, but I would like a full explantion from one of the many knowledgeable people on this board.

Yeah, I wonder about this also. Anabolic means muscle building. That's easy.
Androgenic , I believe refers to male characteristics- like deep voice, face hair, etc....
So I'm not too sure what saying Steroid X is highly androgenic means. Does that mean strength?
Anybody else?

Here is one way to answer the question - if I am hitting the test/dbol pretty hard and I hit a wall at lets say week 7, instead of adding an androgen, I'll add an anabolic and blast through the wall. I have found that I need only so much androgen and the rest is overkill. If there is a problem in such a cycle, I play catch-up with the anabolics.

What it pretty much boils down to is this:
Anabolic - How powerful/good it is for adding muslce
Androgenic - How severe the sides are
Typically the higher the Androgenic, the stronger the anabolic OR vise versa.

Read the profile on halotestin and compare it to the profile for deca or primo depot.
The only steroid I ever had a problem with was halotestin. Not anadrol or dbol or anything else. Halotestin will make you CRAZY.
