Secure Email Addresses?

Hey bros,
I know you are going to say what the F** is this doing in this forum, but in some way it does have something to do with AS, bare w/me I was just wondering how these free secure email addys work, I just got a cyber-rights one and I normally use my aol one, I just sent my self a test email to see how it works, but it told me that a public key coudnt be found, so it wouldnt encrypt the email, does this mean that you can only send to people with cyber-rights addys, What is the point of This??anyways I just wanted to know everyone's views on these, also what is your fav one to use, Hush, zip, cyber....

you can only send to people using the hush encryption system (hushmail, cyber, elite). it basically scrambles it up before it sends it, then sends it, then unscramlbes it on the other end.

Cyber-rights, hush, hushmail, and elitefitness (there could be more, this is just what I can think of right now) all use the same encryption engine. To send a secure email, you have to use the same type, i.e. ziplip-ziplip, hushmail-hushmail, etc.

I would still be careful, I read recently that the US Govmnt's Carnitore system can crack cyber-rights, hushmail, PGP and other encrypted e-mail systems in less then 1/800th of a second "and" privacy and encryption e-mail services are particular targets of Carnitore's key word search methods (looking for keywords that indicates this is from a terrorist, mafia or drug dealer).

correct. while not totally secure from anyone in the world, they are a bit more secure than using something that a novice hacker could get in to.

that sheds some light on the situation, im guessing that most of you have more than one, currently im using ziplip, and cyber-rights, I dont really like ziplip imo. with zip you cant send email to anyone how doesnt have it, unlike cycber-rights which will till send the email but wont encrypt it..im thinking of also going with hush.??

Humm, you got me thinking now,
so why even use them, let just say that we use them to place orders....who cares if a novice hacker get into, what are they going to do with it, im more worried about the gov getting it, so by using a "secure account" its like putitng your balls in a bear trap and hoping it doesnt shut...

Well maybe because the feds only go after the biggest fish and 1st class felonies. They arent too agressive with minor felonies or the 40+ year old man trying to find the fountain of youth in a one time steroid cycle, and forget it, there is no such thing as prosecuting federal misdemeanors except for IRS issues. I think what you have to worry about is your source getting discovered.

Also carnitore has to have perfect timing in order to intercept a copy of the e-mail. Some 95% of encrypted e-mail never gets checked because the internet is a busy place and once a packet is sent and lands at destination, it no longer exists so they have to be in the right place at right time in order to scarf a complete copy of your e-mail.

Would you be suprised to know that the technology is in place that your voice traffic on your cell phone is monitored 24-7.....

use certain words, or phrases...

and you will get a field visit from a local...

and as far as PGP goes... well... i have a laptop that break 512 bit encryption, and it is a p4 2.4 gig.... imagin how fast i can decript with with a main frame..

being aware.. using anonomous email.. mail box ect... as an address these are all good things..

remember only stupid criminals get caught.. (mostly..)

The other thing is..... lets say you want to arrange a dope deal online... well find out what system your source is using, and use the same e-mail system yourself. In otherwords, if source is using hushmail.com, then you use hushmail.com so that your e-mail remains in house and not sent thru multiple carriers on the open internet. This is the best way to keep your encrypted mail from getting into the carnitore system.

Actually it was reported here locally in the paper and on various tv news reports that the figure ws $100k/mo.
