HGH patent expiry?

Does anybody know when th patent of HGH expires? I thought it lasted 'till the end of this year, might be the beginning of next year. When it does expire, the prices are likely to drop with about 50% ...

My understanding is that the patent is due to expiere very soon or it has already expired. The problem is that the raw drug to make gh in generic form is way expensive. I have found one pharmacy that is compounding it but the people that I would have to buy it through must be marking it up considerably. It is only about one dollar per unit cheaper than the best price that I have found for the brand name stuff. I think it will be some time before a major drug company begins to formulate the drug before we see any cost drop. The black Market serostim is already quite cheap compared to even the best over the counter prices.

I don't know when the patent is up...I'll look into that.
GH is a peptide hormone of known sequence. You just stick the cDNA in a plasmid, grow it up in bacteria, and purify it...just like any other protein. Their is no "raw drug" used to make it. If you're talking about some synthetic analog that mimics GH binding, that'd be a different story, but that's not what's being sold.
