SAN FRANCISCO -- Four men accused of providing steroids to dozens of sports stars must turn themselves in Friday morning and appear in court -- or warrants will be issued for their arrest.

The four are accused in a 42-count indictment of running a steroid-distribution ring to athletes in the NFL, Major League Baseball and track and field. No athletes have been named in the indictments.

Federal prosecutors in San Francisco say the accused were meticulous -- giving their drugs code names and carefully wording e-mails to avoid detection. They are accused of giving athletes cover stories to use if they got caught.

But they may not have been as careful when it came to the trash.

Prosecutors say they found thank-you notes from athletes, canceled checks and empty pill sheets from the garbage behind the Bay Area Laboratory Cooperative.

yeah..i saw the whole article on espn.com sh*tty situation. Sure, i feel for the producers and drug manufacturures, but now they are trying to take the athletes down with them...not cool
