Yes they ask a battery of questions having to do with all banned and illegal drugs. The lie detector test is not admissable actually by Supreme Court Ruling but actually only used as a guidline in inquiries or interrogations. I think states or law enforcement agencies that use this tactic in hiring practices only use it for antimidation to weed out undesirable applicants. Lie detectors are not fool proof and can be thwarted. They know this.

I know of one guy that lost he's job with the Ar. State Police because of 'roid use. It was only his 2nd cycle and he got pop in a piss test.

Yes, AAS can be detected by a simple piss or drug test, just by checking for their metabilites. There is alot of BS going around stating that AAS cannot be detected by a piss test and this is UNTRUE. They CAN be detected by a simple piss test, they just have to test/look for them. My current job tested for AAS during the pre employment drug test, and the job before that did a complete drug test every year during an annual physical, and AAS was one of the things they checked for. Since both test was done at my Doc's office (just by luck), I asked for a list of everything they tested for and AAS's were on the list. They just do the std. pot/coke/speed/opuim test during randoms.

When I worked ( 1994 - 1997 ) at least 30% of the guys I were working with used. Didn't know at first but after 6 or 7 months I knew everyone who did.

This 5'2" 160lbs female got out of the jeep, with her nightstick in hand.. Now remember, we have these 2 guys handcuffed, behind the back.. this one is like 6'2" brother.. starts mouthing off...."yea, our people are here now Mother Fuc-ker.."... she is standing in front of this guy, asks me "he been giving you problems?" I said, naw just a little mouth.." she backhands him with the night stick across the jaw knocking him to the ground, and says "we aren't going to have any problems.. are we?" he said "no mame"..........

just one of the many adventures..............

they ask have u ever used any illegal drugs before and if so u list them on a questionnaire then during the polygraph test they make up ten no answer questions according to alot of info on the same questionnaire. one of the questions is "other than the drugs u have listed have u engaged in any other drug use? to which u will answer no. and those tests are really hard to beat.

This is true I made it passed the colonels intervue then they were only hiring 2 troopers there were 4 of us that made it 2 women and 2 guys guess what Im not a cop

I think the guy I know got caught up in a "catch 22". He wasn't a "Kiss ass", so they used it as a reason to get rid of him.

Spywizard, I was USAF MP back in the early 80's. I did Air Base Ground Defense, speciallized in outer permeritor security for C-130's, and missile silo security. We where taking supplies to the Contras and got to see some combat action. After that I joined to Navy to be a Seal but failed the hearing test. Ended up working for an Absentee Collection Unit (ACU) tracking down and picking up deserters. Alot of fun. Plus I did alot of body guard and security work during this time.

I was a cop outside Atlanta. I was on a cycle when I took my urinalysis during the hiring process. I also was on a cycle when I took my polygraph. They don't ask you directly about steroids . They ask if everything you stated about your past drug use correct. I said yes. However I never said anything about every taking AS. I took two xenadrine before the polygraph and my heart was racing. So when they asked if the lights were on in the room I said yes (which they were) and it showed up as a lie. Sometimes polygraphs are not 100% no matter what they tell you. That is why they cannot be used against someone in court.
My other buddy juices also and works for NYPD. He even sells to his co-workers. Cops are corrupt just like everyone else. But in my opinion if it gives them the upperhand then it should be okay. I'm gonna come home to my girl everynight, not get taken out by some lowlife. Don't worry about AS use in law enforcement, as long as you know your cool w/ the polygraph. BTW when you take the polygraph they will ask if you have had any coffee or stimulants. Obviously tell them no.
