Ephedra Ban loop-hole

Hi All,

I was just reading the FDA ban on Ephedra (Ok so I was a little bored today at work). I noticed way towards the bottom that the ban does not apply to Ephedra or Ma Huang as long as it is sold as a chinese herbal remedy (i.e. asthma treatment)
Basically as long as ephedra is not advertised as a wieght-loss or exercise enhancement supplement then its good to go.

If you do an internet search on "bulk chinese herbs" you can find quite a few companys that legally sell bulk ephedra.

Whats really ironic is that my HMO covers nontraditional therapy. Chinese herbal medicine included.

So "gasp" "wheeeze" I think I am developing a mild case of adult asthma....DAM!

Why bother with ephedra, just use ephedrine...with herbal prodcuts you can never be sure what you are really getting.

I use epehdrine and the stuff I use is for people with asthma. vasoconstriction and the like. I never realized ephedra is only one Hydroxy group more than krystal meth.

You will still be able to get Ephedrine HCL as well. Local drug store, cheap, same result.
