    Ventipulmin..does it expire?

    i got ventipulmin syrup from my friend who doesnt use it anymore and want to try it, it says it expires 08 2001...i understand how long ago that is. BUT wat expires? isnt it like chemicals..and no naturals? wat expires? fungus doesnt like grow on it. is it still safe to take now in 04?
